Wilson (concussion) won't practice Wednesday and remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that the Jets are "not closing the door yet" on Wilson being available for Sunday's game against the Commanders, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Wilson would start against Washington if he's able to clear concussion protocol. Should Wilson sit, Trevor Siemian -- who replaced Wilson in the first half of the 30-0 Week 15 loss to Miami -- would make his first start of 2023.

Coach Robert Saleh indicated Monday that if Wilson is able to clear the NFL's concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, he'll remain the Jets' starting QB, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The report adds that if Wilson is unable to fully advance through the protocol, Trevor Siemian would be in line to start in his place. Meanwhile, per Eric Allen of the Jets' official site, the team has until Wednesday to decide whether to activate Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) from IR. It remains to be seen how the Jets -- who have been eliminated from playoff contention -- will approach the veteran QB's situation, but at this stage Cimini suggests that it seems unlikely Rodgers will see action over New York's final three games.

Wilson sustained a concussion during Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
When Wilson was initially ruled out from the contest and replaced by Trevor Siemian, the Jets cited a head injury as the cause for the QB's early exit. However, it has now been confirmed that Wilson suffered a concussion, which means that he'll have to progress through the NFL's five-step protocol in order to gain clearance to play ahead of next Sunday's game against the Commanders.

Wilson exited late in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Dolphins due to a head injury and won't return to the contest, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
After taking home AFC Player of the Week honors in last Sunday's 30-6 win over the Texans, Wilson got off to a dismal start against Miami. He took four sacks and completed just four of 11 attempts for 26 yards and lost a fumble before heading to the locker room during the Jets' final possession of the first half. According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, Wilson is not in concussion protocol, and CBS Sports' Tracy Wolfson relayed during the television broadcast that the quarterback's early exit was a result of him experiencing dehydration. Trevor Siemian led a scoreless drive to a close out the second quarter and was back on the field to begin the third quarter, so he looks poised to finish the game with Wilson sidelined. The Jets' plans at quarterback are unclear heading into Week 16, as Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) could attain medical clearance to return to action for the team's Dec. 24 game against the Commanders. However, since the Jets faced a 24-0 halftime deficit against Miami and will most likely drop to 5-9 on the season, New York may not activate Rodgers next week and could instead continue moving forward with either Wilson or Siemian at quarterback now that a postseason berth looks to be out of reach.

Wilson (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, head coach Robert Saleh relayed Monday that Wilson was dealing with a minor knee issue, but the Jets never had much concern that the injury would affect his status for a Week 15 matchup with the Dolphins. After a two-game benching, Wilson stepped back into the starting role this past weekend against the Texans and turned in one of the best performances of his career. He completed 27 of 36 pass attempts for 301 yards and two touchdowns and carried three times for 12 yards in the Jets' 30-6 win en route to taking home AFC Player of the Week honors.

Coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Wilson is dealing with a knee injury coming out of the 30-6 win over the Texans, but Saleh doesn't anticipate that the injury will impact Wilson's availability for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saleh didn't sound overly concerned about Wilson's knee, but the starting quarterback's practice participation will still be worth monitoring as the Jets prepare to face their AFC East rivals. Wilson's coming off his best performance of the season, as he reached the 300-yard threshold for the first time in 2023 while throwing two touchdowns without an interception.

Wilson completed 27 of 36 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-6 win over the Texans. He added three rushing attempts for 12 yards and lost a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start since Week 11, Wilson posted his first 300-yard performance of the season and third of his career. Neither team scored until Wilson connected with Randall Cobb for a 15-yard touchdown on the first possession of the third quarter. That drive started a stretch of three touchdowns in four drives for the Jets. Wilson lost a fumble on the lone non-scoring possession over that span but bounced back with a three-yard touchdown pass to Breece Hall. Unless Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is declared ready to play in Week 15 against the Dolphins, Wilson has earned himself another start after leading the offense to 30 second-half points to snap the Jets' five-game losing streak.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced Wednesday that Wilson will start Sunday's game against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Saleh added that he hopes Wilson will remain the Jets' starting signal-caller for the remainder of the regular season, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. The comment is an implicit acknowledgement that Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) won't return this season, which was all but guaranteed after the Jets dropped to 4-8 with a loss to the Falcons this past Sunday. The Jets then waived Tim Boyle -- who had started the past two games -- on Tuesday and replaced him with Brett Rypien. In addition to Wilson and the injured Rodgers, Rypien joins Trevor Siemian in the Jets' quarterback room.

Coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that Wilson will be inactive but serve as the Jets' emergency third quarterback Friday against the Dolphins, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tim Boyle takes over No. 1 duties and Trevor Siemian will be the backup signal-caller in Wilson's place. If the second overall pick in the 2021 Draft doesn't see the field again this season, he'll finish it with 1,944 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions on 59 percent passing, plus 33 carries for 199 rushing yards, while getting sacked 38 times and committing nine fumbles (five lost).

Head coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Wilson will be active as the Jets' No. 3 quarterback for Friday's game against the Dolphins, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Multiple reports surfaced earlier Monday indicating that Tim Boyle would supplant Wilson as the team's starting quarterback, but Wilson's drop to third on the depth chart wasn't made official until Saleh spoke to the media. The Jets will either elevate Trevor Siemian from the practice squad or sign him to the 53-man roster, and he'll suit up as the top backup while Boyle takes over as the starter. According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, Saleh noted that no thought was given to cutting Wilson after the third-year signal-caller was benched midway through Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Bills, and his future with the organization will be dealt with in the offseason. Since being selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the 24-year-old Wilson has completed 56.6 percent of his passes for 6.3 yards per attempt and a 21:25 TD:INT over 32 games (31 starts).
