Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) is listed as doubtful for Week 7. He didn't practice all week, and as of Thursday was only able to play catch on the side of workouts. While the Seahawks are officially calling their Week 7 QB a "game-time decision," all signs point toward Charlie Whitehurst getting the nod against Cleveland. Jackson's status for Week 9 and beyond is unclear.

Coach Pete Carroll revealed that Tarvaris Jackson has yet to do more than play catch in limited practices this week. "We'll need to see him throw the football competitively where he can fire it around like he does," said Carroll. "We just haven't had him throw the ball hard yet. ... We may go all the way to game time to understand whether he'll be available to us." Charlie Whitehurst ended up starting the two games last season when he took the majority of the practice reps in place of Matt Hasselbeck, so there's precedent here.

Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) was limited again in Thursday's practice. Signs out of Seattle suggest Charlie Whitehurst will get the call this week, which would be welcome news for Doug Baldwin. Check back late Friday afternoon for confirmation that Jackson is another week away from starting.

Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) was officially listed as "limited" in Seahawks practice Wednesday. Jackson will likely be limited all week and listed either as questionable or doubtful on Friday's final injury report. Charlie Whitehurst is slated to start.

Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that the Seahawks will be in "wait and see" mode about Tarvaris Jackson's (pectoral) availability this week. Jackson will do "some stuff" in Wednesday's practice, with Charlie Whitehurst handling all of the first-team reps. The Seahawks are adamant that T-Jack remains their starter when healthy, and Jackson was playing well enough before the Week 6 bye to keep the position when he returns. For this week, however, the expectation in Seattle is that Whitehurst will start at Cleveland.

Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) is "way ahead" of schedule in his rehab. Carroll is one of the more optimistic and positive guys on the planet, so we'll take his words with a grain of salt. Even he admitted that they are preparing Charlie Whitehurst to be the starter Sunday. Jackson did not practice during the bye week.

Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) has resumed throwing and running, and is considered day-to-day heading into Week 7. It sounds like there's at least a chance Jackson will be under center against the Browns this weekend, even if it's not a very good one. The first real indication of his Week 7 status should come in Wednesday practice. If he's not at least a limited participant, Charlie Whitehurst should be expected to get the call this week.

The Seahawks have not "completely dismissed the possibility of surgery" on Tarvaris Jackson's high-grade pectoral strain near his throwing arm. "We're not going to know for a while," coach Pete Carroll said when asked about his starter's status for Week 7. Jackson won't even attempt to throw a pass during the bye week as Charlie Whitehurst handles the first-team offense. Considering the location of the injury, Jackson is fighting an uphill battle to be ready for the Browns in two weeks.

Charlie Whitehurst will run the first-team offense during the Seahawks' Week 6 bye, while Tarvaris Jackson recovers from a "high-grade" strain of the pectoral near his right (throwing) arm. Jackson won't practice this week, and coach Pete Carroll gave him no timetable to return. The bye has come at a good time for Jackson. The Seahawks are committed to him over Whitehurst, and will give T-Jack every opportunity to re-seize his starting job if he's healthy. Seattle will visit Cleveland in Week 7.
