DeValve hauled in two of three targets for two yards during Monday's preseason contest with the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
DeValve remains listed as the team's No. 2 tight end behind Randall Telfer after back-to-back quiet preseason performances. The Browns figure to use a lot of two-tight end sets to help protect DeShone Kizer, so opportunities to catch the ball may still be there for the second-year pro out of Princeton. But rookie David Njoku is expected to play a key role as well, and that will leave with DeValve or Telfer as the odd-man out.

DeValve is listed as the backup tight end on the Browns' unofficial depth chart, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though the Browns have been impressed with DeValve in camp thus far, he's still behind Randall Telfer on the depth chart, likely due to Telfer's superior skill at blocking. DeValve did, however, put on weight during the offseason in order to become a better blocker, but until that starts showing up, the second-year pro might struggle to find the field on a consistent basis.

DeValve garnered first-team reps during Monday's practice, according to the Browns' official site.
EDGE Analysis
Even though the Browns selected tight end David Njoku in the first round of 2017 draft, many in Cleveland's camp believe DeValve is primed for a breakout campaign. The second-year pro caught just 10 passes a season ago but has already impressed during the first few days of training camp, earning some reps with the first-team offense. He'll continue to compete with Njoku for the starting job, although he looks to have an early leg up.

The Browns expect a breakout season for DeValve in 2017, Nate Ulrich of The Akron Beacon-Journal reports. "Most of his development in the offseason was that [DeValve] put on a little weight, he is noticeably stronger, he is faster and he is healthier," tight ends coach Greg Seamon said. "His ability to run routes, catch the ball, leave his feet, catch the ball away from his body and he has a big catch radius, I think those things are showing up out here. I'm pleased with what he has done developing as a blocker from a technical and footwork standpoint. The proof will be obvious when we put the pads on, but he is ahead of where he was a year ago. I see Seth as a guy who is important to us."
EDGE Analysis
DeValve, the Browns' 2016 fourth-rounder, caught 10 passes for 127 yards and two spikes in limited snaps last season. Although he's beginning to prove himself as a receiver, the fact of the matter is that Cleveland selected Miami tight end David Njoku in the first round of this year's draft to serve as the team's primary receiving threat from the tight end position while Randall Telfer, the likely No. 2 on the depth chart, stands apart as the best blocker. That leaves DeValve as nothing more than No. 3, a role that has value in real life but practically zero in the fantasy realm. Unless the Browns plan on using an exorbitant amount of three-TE sets in 2017, the opportunity simply might not be there for DeValve to improve upon his 2016 numbers.

DeValve caught his only target for a 12-yard touchdown during Sunday's season finale versus the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Overall, DeValve performed better than his spot on the depth chart would suggest. He finished the 2016 season with 10 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown, despite playing limited snaps. Based on his production, he may have supplanted backup tight end Randall Telfer going into next season, but it's still too early to tell.

DeValve caught one of two targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 23-10 loss to the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
The third-string tight end has now caught a pass in four-straight games, although he didn't see much action Sunday, appearing on the field for just four snaps. DeValve is still behind Randall Telfer on the depth chart, so an increased role for Cleveland's final three games is unlikely.

DeValve hauled in three passes on four targets for 39 yards against the Giants on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
DeValve was on the field for a career-high 20 snaps and had his best game in the NFL, outperforming Gary Barnidge and second-string tight end Randall Telfer. We'll see if his increased workload continues after Cleveland's bye in Week 13.

DeValve snagged his only target for eight yards in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
DeValve has just three catches (including a touchdown) on the year, so unless Gary Barnidge goes down, don't expect him to make much of a fantasy impact.

DeValve caught his only target for 25 yards and his first career NFL touchdown against the Ravens on Thursday night.
EDGE Analysis
DeValve's 25-yard touchdown reception was just his second career catch. as the rookie out Princeton hasn't been on the field much this season. He's listed as the third-string tight end but now has more touchdowns than starter Gary Barnidge.

DeValve caught one pass (two targets) for five yards Sunday against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
DeValve drew the start alongside Gary Barnidge and was welcomed with his first career catch in the NFL. However, Randall Telfer is still listed as the backup tight end on Cleveland's depth chart and was on the field more often during Sunday's contest, so we don't expect much of a change regarding DeValve's status.
