According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, there's "virtually no chance" the Packers re-sign Ryan Grant. The Packers signed Grant out of desperation in Week 13 and he struggled in three games as a late season fill-in for James Starks. Entering his age-30 season, Grant is doubtful to attract interest on the open market. He went unsigned for the first month of the regular season, and it's fair to wonder if his NFL career has reached its end.

Ryan Grant rushed just twice for two yards at Minnesota in Week 17. Both of the carries came in the first quarter. Grant was a non-factor the rest of the way as the Packers opted to stay with DuJuan Harris' hot hand. We expected a bigger role after last week's two touchdown performance, but Grant is rightly viewed as a niche player. That could change if Harris struggles in the playoffs.

Ryan Grant rushed 20 times for 80 yards with two touchdowns in the Packers' 55-7 Week 16 win over the Titans. With Cedric Benson (foot) on IR, James Starks (knee) out indefinitely and Alex Green nursing a concussion, the Packers called on Grant. He responded by getting what was blocked in a dream matchup, and that turned out to be a lot. The 20 carries are the most for Grant since Week 14 of the 2009 season. As long as Green gets cleared, expect a rotation in Week 17 and the playoffs this year.

Ryan Grant will start Sunday's game against the Titans with Alex Green (concussion) inactive. The matchup is certainly right as the Packers figure to get a lead at home and pound on the Titans' No. 25 rush defense. However, Grant lacks burst, doesn't contribute as a receiver and will be part of a committee as DuJuan Harris and John Kuhn will also see snaps. Consider Grant a desperation flex only in non-PPR formats. The rest of the Packers' inactives: WR Jordy Nelson, S Charles Woodson, RB James Starks, TE Tom Crabtree, DE C.J. Wilson and DE Jerel Worthy.

Coach Mike McCarthy's isn't holding Ryan Grant's Week 15 lost fumble against the veteran back. McCarthy chalked the fumble up to Charles Tillman's penchant for punching the ball out. "We had the confidence to put (Grant) back in the game," said McCarthy. Grant saw four carries in the game's final six minutes after fumbling. He could end up starting versus the Titans with Alex Green's (concussion) status in doubt.

Ryan Grant rushed once for 13 yards in Green Bay's Week 14 win over the Lions. Grant drew a nice ovation from the home crowd, but was otherwise an afterthought behind Alex Green and DuJuan Harris, who combined for 21 carries. Grant is extremely unlikely to come into fantasy value in any format the final three weeks of the season.

Packers RBs coach Alex Van Pelt confirms that Ryan Grant will have only a minor role if active versus the Lions on Sunday. "You have to play football to be in football shape, obviously," Van Pelt said. "So we're obviously not going to throw (Grant) out there this week and expect him to carry the load or anything like that. It'll be some spot duty this week and as he gets stronger and into football shape, he'll have more of a role." Alex Green will handle the bulk of the carries in Week 14.

Coach Mike McCarthy believes newly signed RB Ryan Grant will be active Sunday. "Frankly, where we are from a health standpoint, we might not have a choice," said McCarthy. Cedric Benson, James Starks and Johnny White are all either out or on injured reserve. Starks certainly knows the system after spending the first five years of his career with the Packers. He'll serve as early-down insurance behind starter Alex Green.

Redskins released RB Ryan Grant. Grant lasts just four weeks on the roster and saw one carry. He goes to make room for Keiland Williams, who brings much more versatility in terms of running, blocking and special teams. Grant is no lock to get picked up by another team after failing to push Evan Royster for backup duties behind clear workhorse Alfred Morris.
