The Packers are only expected to make free agent Ryan Grant an offer if he receives "little interest" on the open market.
If 31 other teams look at the majority of Grant's 2011 game tapes, that's exactly what he'll receive. Grant's ball-carrying burst has evaporated, and he was never an asset in the pass game. Perhaps old pal Joe Philbin would give Grant a tire-kick as No. 2 back competition for Daniel Thomas in Miami. Otherwise, the 29-year-old is likely headed for little to no 2012 role.

Fox Sports Wisconsin expects free agent Ryan Grant to re-sign with the Packers.
The Packers seemed willing to let Grant walk early in the season, but rookie Alex Green's torn ACL and James Starks' inability to stay healthy as the lead back may have the organization leaning toward bringing the 29-year-old back on a short-term contract. Brandon Saine, the only alternative on the roster, isn't trusted in a major role.

Ryan Grant rushed eight times for 33 yards and caught three passes for 17 yards in the Packers' postseason loss to the Giants.
The Giants turned Grant's fourth-quarter fumble into an easy four-yard touchdown pass to Mario Manningham on the next play. Grant didn't get another carry the rest of the game, and we suspect he's received his last as a Packer. Clearly losing several steps after essentially taking the 2010 season off, Grant fell into a committee with James Starks and John Kuhn, and his burst has evaporated. The impending free agent turned 29 last month.

Ryan Grant rushed eight times for 44 yards in Green Bay's Week 16 win over the Bears, adding two catches for 34 yards.
The Packers rarely ran the ball, but Grant was their best bet when they did, racking up 31 more yards than James Starks on only two more carries. Grant looked healthy and spry for the third straight week, extending multiple runs by beating defenders around the edge. With Starks aggravating his right ankle injury yet again this evening, Grant is shaping up as the 14-1 Packers' lead back for the playoffs.

Starting in place of an injured James Starks, Ryan Grant rushed 10 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns and added one reception for 13 yards to lead the Packers to a 46-16 laugher over the Raiders in Week 14.
Grant broke a tackle and went 47 yards to the house on the Packers' first play. It was the longest Green Bay run of the season, and Grant's first over 10 yards in 67 carries and nine weeks. Grant scored his second touchdown off a Charles Woodson interception, and even set up Ryan Taylor's 4-yard score with a 13-yard reception of his own. Though he was slow getting to the corner, Grant was able to put his foot in the ground and cut decisively between the tackles. He has RB2 potential in Week 15 at Kansas City if Starks sits out again.

Ryan Grant hasn't had a run of at least 10 yards since Week 3.
That's two months and 55 carries without an explosive run. With John Kuhn as the primary goal-line back, Grant has also failed to score this season. He's averaging just 5.5 carries per over the past four games, and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel suggests Brandon Saine could be "blended into the rotation" to pick up Grant's slack.

Ryan Grant rushed six times for 20 yards and added three catches for 20 yards in Thursday's win over the Lions.
Grant came off the bench behind James Starks. But after Starks went out with an apparent injury at the end of the first quarter, Grant took over as the primary back. Still, the Packers didn't use Grant at the goal line and Brandon Saine picked up passing-down snaps. Coach Mike McCarthy knows Grant can't play anymore. Even if/when Starks misses games, Grant won't be a fantasy option.

Ryan Grant rushed just four times for 16 yards against the Bucs in Week 11.
Grant played behind James Starks until the latter's knee injury late in the fourth quarter. The two backs saw John Kuhn and even B.J. Raji vulture goal-line touchdowns. With Starks banged up, Grant is worth a look on the waiver wire this week. Just don't expect much at Detroit in Week 12 in a pass-dominated offense.

Ryan Grant (knee) returned to practice Thursday, as expected.
Grant's knee required stitches early in the week due to a small cut. Even in an attractive matchup, he's just 38th among fantasy backs in Rotoworld's Week 11 rankings.

Ryan Grant suffered a cut on his knee that required stitches during Monday's win over the Vikings.
Grant is fully expected to play Sunday and will likely get back in practice today. However, he's off the fantasy radar. Over the last five games, Grant is averaging 28.8 total yards per game and has zero touchdowns. James Starks is the blatantly better player.
