Ryan Grant is active for Week 5, which will be his debut as a Redskin.
Either Grant or Evan Royster will back up Alfred Morris against the Falcons. We suspect it will be Royster because he's a better passing-down option than the former Packer. For Grant, we wouldn't expect more than 4-6 touches assuming he gets the ball at all. Morris is entrenched as Washington's workhorse.

Coach Mike Shanahan is unsure if Ryan Grant will make his Redskins debut in Week 5.
Grant was a healthy scratch in Week 4, and may not have picked up enough of the playbook to suit up against the Falcons. It's a reminder that despite Shanahan's infamous running back ways, Grant isn't a serious threat for fantasy relevance in Washington.

Redskins agreed to terms with RB Ryan Grant.
Grant reportedly weighed offers from "multiple" teams, though we suspect the Redskins may have been the only franchise willing to part with much in the way of guaranteed money. Grant will be strictly a backup with the Redskins, spelling starter Alfred Morris while Roy Helu (turf toe) and Evan Royster (knee) miss time with injuries. Helu was in a walking boot after Sunday's game. We wouldn't bother adding Grant in 12- and 14-team leagues.

Although free agent RB Ryan Grant had an "impressive" workout with the Bears Tuesday, he's expected to sign a contract with another team.
Grant had previously worked out for the Lions, but we wonder if the new team might be the Redskins. The team's had reportedly volleyed the idea of signing Grant before training camp opened, and the backup duo of Roy Helu (turf toe) and Evan Royster (knee) is nursing injuries this week. In addition to Grant, the Bears also worked out Jacob Hester.

Free agent RB Ryan Grant is working out for the Bears Tuesday.
Michael Bush took some big hits during last week's win over the Rams, but insisted he emerged healthy. Coach Lovie Smith said the same thing. We're not aware of any injuries to Kahlil Bell or Armando Allen either, so the Bears are probably just updating their emergency list. Grant previously had a workout with the Lions but wasn't signed.

The Jaguars are not interested in free agent RB Ryan Grant, sources "inside the building" tell the Associated Press.
Grant created a stir by tweeting a picture of a Jaguar on Tuesday night, but it looks like he was just having some fun with Instagram. He may not have even realized that the picture he posted was a Jaguar. If Maurice Jones-Drew's holdout lasts through Week 1, Jacksonville appears poised to roll with Montell Owens as the primary backup to potential workhorse Rashad Jennings.

CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora reports the Lions are "keeping an eye" on free agent running backs and still "like" Ryan Grant.

The Washington Times reports the Redskins do not plan "at this time" to add a veteran running back such as Ryan Grant or Cedric Benson.
The Washington Post and ESPN 980 Washington had already downplayed the original CBS Sports report that the team had discussed the two veterans. Both sites specifically mentioned that Benson wasn't a legit candidate. This appears to be a typical case of the personnel department spit-balling available names for an emergency list. No signing is imminent.

The Packers have given free agent Ryan Grant's locker to WR Diondre Borel.
The locker still had Grant's name on it at rookie camp. Green Bay has shown no interest in re-signing Grant. This move suggests he won't be brought back to the Packers regardless of his price tag.
