Fitzpatrick entered Saturday's 26-25 win over the Raiders in the fourth quarter, completing nine of 13 pass attempts for 182 yards and a touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick took over for a timid Tua Tagovailoa (17 of 22 for just 94 yards) midway through the fourth quarter, and the veteran immediately displayed his signature tendency to push the ball downfield. His first drive led the Dolphins to a field goal, while his second resulted in a touchdown courtesy of a 59-yard sideline catch by Myles Gaskin. Dolphins fans will most remember Fitzpatrick's third and final drive of the night, however. The savvy veteran got the ball back with just nineteen seconds remaining and Miami down two points, and he immediately connected with Mack Hollins on a deep shot to set up the game-winning field goal, while simultaneously drawing a facemask penalty. According to Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald, coach Brian Flores announced Tagovailoa will start Week 17 against the Bills, though he could have a short leash with the Dolphins attempting to secure a playoff spot.

Fitzpatrick is likely to serve as Miami's backup quarterback Sunday against the Bengals with Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) expected to start, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After sitting out Miami's Week 12 win over the Jets with an injured left thumb, Tagovailoa practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday through Friday before taking a questionable designation into the weekend. As Rapoport notes, Tagovailoa still handled most of the reps with the first-team offense this week despite his limitations, so barring any setbacks in warmups, the rookie will be back under center Sunday. Fitzpatrick was serviceable in place of Tagovailoa last week, completing 24 of 39 attempts for 257 yards and two touchdowns.

Fitzpatrick completed 24 of 39 pass attempts for 257 yards and two touchdowns during the Dolphins' 20-3 win over the Jets. He also had three carries for 10 yards and fumbled once.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick started Sunday's game in place of Tua Tagovailoa (thumb), and he didn't have to do too much in order to earn a divisional win over the lifeless Jets. The aged veteran reprised his 2019 form by showcasing a lethal connection with DeVante Parker, whom he targeted 14 times, connecting on eight of those occasions for 119 yards. In the red zone, Fitzpatrick instead opted to look toward the Dolphins' tight ends, connecting with both Mike Gesicki and Adam Shaheen for scores. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Tagovailoa will start Week 13 against the Bengals if healthy, but if Fitzpatrick were to get another chance under center he'd be a tempting streaming option at quarterback.

Fitzpatrick is in line to start Sunday against the Jets after Tua Tagovailoa (left thumb) was downgraded to doubtful, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa's damaged throwing thumb will likely set the stage for Fitzpatrick to return to the starting lineup against the team he last played as the starting quarterback for the Dolphins. While the contest got out of hand by the end of the first half, Fitzpatrick did throw for three touchdowns, although he also tied for a three-start low in terms of passing yards (191) thanks to the massive score differential. Considering the matchup, the veteran quarterback is certainly a worthy streaming option at quarterback, especially with a running game that could be without the top two starters Myles Gaskin (knee, eligible to return off IR) and Salvon Ahmed (shoulder).

Fitzpatrick replaced Tua Tagovailoa for the final two drives of Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Broncos, completing 12 of 18 passes for 117 yards and an interception.
EDGE Analysis
The Dolphins' offensive line had trouble protecting Tagovailoa, who got sacked six times before being removed, but Fitzpatrick committed Miami's only turnover of the afternoon after leading the team to a field goal on his first possession. Per Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com, coach Brian Flores has no plans to switch back to Fitzpatrick as his starter, and the veteran will remain the No. 2 QB in Week 12 against the Jets.

Fitzpatrick has been replaced by Tua Tagovailoa as the Dolphins' starting quarterback, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick has fared mostly well this season, throwing for 300 yards in three games, tossing multiple touchdowns four times and throwing multiple picks on three occasions. Overall, his line is fair enough -- 70.5 percent passing, 1,535 yards and 10 touchdowns versus seven interceptions through six contests -- but after Tagovailoa got on the field in garbage time this past Sunday against the Jets, Miami will move forward with the the fifth overall pick of the 2020 draft under center. The Tagovailoa era will begin after the Dolphins' bye week on Nov. 1 versus the Rams.

Fitzpatrick completed 18 of 27 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions in Sunday's 24-0 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran QB lit up one of his many former clubs in the first half, throwing all three of his TDs before the break, but neither offense could get much going in the second half -- the two squads combined for eight punts in the final two quarters. Fitzpatrick has a 10:7 TD:INT in six starts heading into the Dolphins' Week 7 bye, and he's likely played well enough to delay having to hand the No. 1 job over to rookie Tua Tagovailoa any time soon.

Fitzpatrick completed 22 of 28 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns while gaining 16 yards on three carries during Sunday's 43-17 win over the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick came through with one of the most efficient performances of his career as he averaged 12.5 yards per attempt en route to a new season high in passing yardage. He threw touchdown passes to three different receivers and avoided turning the ball over after throwing a pair of interceptions in last week's loss to Seattle. Fitzpatrick has now topped 300 passing yards in three of five games this season and has multiple touchdown passes with no interceptions in three games as well. He continues to surprise for what was supposed to be a futile Dolphins offense and will look to keep it up in a favorable matchup against the Broncos next Sunday.

Fitzpatrick will remain the Dolphins' starting quarterback Sunday at San Francisco, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
On Monday, coach Brian Flores induced rumblings about a QB change when he wouldn't commit to Fitzpatrick as the starter for Week 5. One day later, though, the Dolphins have decided to stick with Fitzpatrick for the time being. While he's completing a career-best 69 percent of his passes, he's averaging 248.5 passing yards per game and has four touchdowns versus five interceptions, leading the team to a 1-3 record. Fitzpatrick seems to be a placeholder at the position until Flores believes 2020 first-round pick Tua Tagovailoa is ready to take the reigns of Miami's offense.

Coach Brian Flores said Monday that he hasn't decided on a starting quarterback for Week 5, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flores said he "would assume" Fitzpatrick starts in San Francisco on Sunday, per Beasley, but that the team will have further discussions Monday. While Fitzpatrick played clean in Week 3's win over Jacksonville and has kept games relatively close against tough competition, the Dolphins have emerged with just one win at the quarter point of the regular season. The pressure to see whether rookie first-round pick Tua Tagovailoa can spark the offense appears to be mounting, though Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post notes that Flores wants to avoid rushing the 22-year-old.
