Jets head coach Todd Bowles was noncommittal when asked about the possibility of Fitzpatrick being removed in favor of Geno Smith, Newsday reports. Asked if he is giving consideration to starting Smith, Bowles said: "Not at this time. We'll meet on all that stuff on Monday.''
EDGE Analysis
Despite the lack of a ringing endorsement, it would be surprising if Fitzpatrick were benched after back-to-back down games in an otherwise strong season. Head coach Todd Bowles may have left the door open for a change, but the Jets probably won't give it real consideration unless Fitzpatrick struggles again in Week 12 against the Dolphins.

Fitzpatrick completed 19-of-39 passes for 216 yards and one touchdown along with two interceptions while rushing five times for 12 yards and another touchdown Sunday against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
With the Texans playing most of the game without their two starting cornerbacks, it was a major disappointment that Fitzpatrick wasn't able to have a bigger afternoon. Although he connected with Brandon Marshall on a touchdown pass, he missed out on two other opportunities when throwing end zone passes to him. His rushing touchdown came late in the fourth quarter and he took a massive hit causing him to look a bit dazed after the play. He now has accounted for at least two touchdowns in eight of the 10 games he's played. He'll look to continue his production next week when he faces the Dolphins at home.

Fitzpatrick (thumb) will play Sunday against the Texans, ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick "is fine", according to coach Todd Bowles, who also said his quarterback will play following last Friday's procedure on his non-throwing thumb. Knowing that, Fitzpatrick should be deployed as usual in fantasy lineups this weekend.

Fitzpatrick (thumb) participated in practice Wednesday, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
EDGE Analysis
The fact that Fitzpatrick was out there just five days removed from a procedure on his left (non-throwing) thumb, suggests per the report, that barring a setback in practice, the QB (who was sporting a protective glove Wednesday) is expected to start Sunday against the Texans.

Coach Todd Bowles noted Monday that Friday's procedure to repair Fitzpatrick's left thumb ligament "went fine."
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, Bowles relayed that he was "hopeful" with regard to both the QB's chances of being able to participate in practice Wednesday, as well as his chances of starting Sunday's contest against the Texans. That said, if Fitzpatrick can't practice this week, "he's not playing," Bowles acknowledged, with the report noting on that front that it's "all a matter of dealing with any lingering pain Fitzpatrick might have from the surgery."

Fitzpatrick will undergo surgery to repair torn ligaments in his left thumb on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Fitzpatrick will use the 10-day break between games to address his problematic non-throwing thumb. The Jets hope he'll be ready for Week 11 against the Texans, but there does seem to be a reasonable chance that Fitzpatrick will miss at least one game. If the veteran quarterback isn't available, Geno Smith will step in for a favorable matchup against a soft Houston defense.

Fitzpatrick (thumb) completed 15 of 34 passes for 193 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions in Thursday's 22-17 loss to the Bills. He added 30 yards on three carries.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick definitely wasn't at his best, but he did make some highly difficult throws in the second half, and his teammates played a big role in holding his completion percentage to a season-low 44.1. While Fitzpatrick doesn't seem too bothered by the torn ligaments in his thumb, teammate Brandon Marshall (ankle/toe) hasn't looked like his usual self since getting banged up in Week 8. Even with Fitzpatrick and Eric Decker playing well, the New York offense badly needs Marshall to return to form, as the 31-year-old wideout accounted for a large portion of the team's offense until the past few weeks. The good news for the Jets is that Marshall will have extra time off before a Week 11 matchup with the Texans, though there is some chance Fitzpatrick won't be available, as he may have surgery on his thumb in the coming days. The Jets are hopeful that Fitzpatrick won't miss any games, even if he does have the procedure.

Fitzpatrick (thumb) is active for Thursday's game against the Bills, Seth Walder of the NY Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker and Jeremy Kerley also active, Fitzpatrick will have all of his key weapons besides third-down back Bilal Powell (ankle). Fitzpatrick may have surgery on his non-throwing thumb as soon as Friday, but he still hopes to avoid missing any games.
