Head coach Todd Bowles may be considering a change under center for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Rich CImini of ESPN.com reports. "I did re-visit [the situation between Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith]," Bowles said Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
After Fitzpatrick's 31st and final throw was picked off near the end of the third quarter Monday at Arizona, Geno Smith directed the Jets' offense, but the latter was picked off himself on his last pass attempt. In a post-game media session, Bowles channeled a baseball analogy, calling Smith a "relief" option. However, after pondering his signal-callers' standing in the locker room, Bowles seems open to a change. Before making a decision between Fitzpatrick and Smith, though, Bowles will consult his coaching staff and general manager Mike Maccagnan.

Head coach Todd Bowles said Fitzpatrick will remain the starter for Week 7 against Baltimore, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After throwing an interception in the red zone at the end of the third quarter, Fitzpatrick was pulled in favor of Geno Smith midway through the fourth quarter of Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Cardinals. Despite finishing with only 16 completions for 174 yards on 31 attempts, the struggling Fitzpatrick will make at least one more start, as head coach Todd Bowles largely attributes his offense's struggles to poor play on the offensive line. Top wideout Brandon Marshall also took some of the blame, suggesting his poor route led to Fitzpatrick's interception. Regardless, the Jets offense has been a complete mess since Week 2, so while Fitzpatrick may still get another chance, he'll probably be on the hot seat.

Fitzpatrick completed 25 of 38 passes for 255 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Steelers. He also rushed once for nine yards.
EDGE Analysis
With Eric Decker (shoulder) out, Fitzpatrick relied heavily on top wideout Brandon Marshall, who caught eight of 15 targets for 114 yards and a touchdown. After throwing nine interceptions in his previous two games, Fitzpatrick didn't turn the ball over for the second time all season, though he did fumble for the fifth consecutive game (all have been recovered by the Jets). Things won't get much easier in Week 6, as the Jets will travel to face the Cardinals next Monday night.

Fitzpatrick completed 23 of 41 passes for 261 yards and one touchdown Sunday against the Seahawks. He also rushed twice for five yards and threw three interceptions.
EDGE Analysis
After throwing six picks in Week 3, Fitzpatrick's struggles continued against arguably the best defense in the NFL. The absence of Eric Decker (shoulder) did him no favors, and while top wideout Brandon Marshall had 89 yards and a touchdown, he only caught four of 12 targets. Decker has been described as "week-to-week" with his injury, but Fitzpatrick could really benefit from his return, especially with the Jets traveling to Pittsburgh in Week 5.

Fitzpatrick completed 20 of 44 passes for 188 yards, but he was picked off six times during Sunday's 24-3 loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Two of Fitzpatrick's interceptions were tipped and picked off in the end zone, but it was still a disastrous outing, with five of the interceptions coming in the second half. Amazingly, the Jets had the ball down only two scores with about five minutes left in the game, but Fitzpatrick couldn't get them into the end zone. He targeted Quincy Enunwa 11 times and Brandon Marshall 10, but neither caught more than four, and Bilal Powell led the team with 41 receiving yards. Fitzpatrick will look to put the horrible performance behind him, though the schedule only gets tougher, as the Jets will host the Seahawks in Week 4 before traveling to Pittsburgh and Arizona.

Fitzpatrick completed 24 of 34 passes for 374 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in Thursday's 37-31 victory over the Bills. He also gained 21 yards on five rushes.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran signal-caller avenged his gut-wrenching three-interception day at New Era Field last Jan. 3, a performance that cost the Jets a playoff spot. Fitzpatrick came in to Thursday's game with a 1-8 career record against Rex Ryan-coached defenses, but was able to connect with his top three receivers-- Eric Decker, Brandon Marshall and Quincy Enunwa-- for 18 receptions and 319 yards. He showed particular proficiency in an area that hasn't always been a strong suit, downfield passing, completing throws of over 30 yards to each of the aforementioned trio. Fitzpatrick was also instrumental in helping the Jets score 17 unanswered points after falling behind 24-20, helping them avert an 0-2 start. Following an extended 10-day break, the Fitzpatrick and the Jets will try to keep the momentum going in Week 3 in a road tilt versus the Chiefs.

Fitzpatrick completed 19 of 35 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 23-22 loss to the Bengals. He also rushed four times for 15 yards but also threw an interception.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick spread his passes around, throwing at least seven balls to four different players, while connecting on touchdowns with Eric Decker and Quincy Enunwa. However, he struggled to get much going down field, and his interception was a costly one that ended the Jets' final possession. With solid receiving options around, Fitzpatrick is always capable of a big game, though that could be tough in Week 2 at Buffalo.

Fitzpatrick completed 9-of-16 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown, and lost a fumble in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick's touchdown pass was a 22-yard connection with Eric Decker, which marked his final involvement in Saturday's contest. Besides that play, Fitzpatrick was rather underwhelming, as his 4.8 yards per attempt might suggest. Nonetheless, Fitzpatrick was without top wideout Brandon Marshall (hip) and played less than two quarters, so he probably won't be too worried by Saturday's lackluster preseason showing.

Jets head coach Todd Bowles confirmed Thursday that Fitzpatrick will be the starter this season, according to Kimberley Martin of Newsday.
EDGE Analysis
The announcement came as no surprise after Fitzpatrick signed a one-year, $12 million contract Wednesday to return to the Jets. He is coming off the best season of his career and will have even more weapons this year with the hope of making the playoffs for the first time.

Fitzpatrick has signed a one-year, $12 million contract with the Jets, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fitzpatrick and the Jets have been in talks over a contract for months, with Fitzpatrick willing to retire before he accepted an offer below his market value. Now that the deal is done, Fitzpatrick will surely be the starting quarterback for New York, though the team may take him slowly after he wasn't with the team throughout the offseason. In his lone season with the Jets last year, Fitzpatrick threw for 3,905 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions while completing 59.6 percent of his passes in what was arguably the best season of his career.
