Ryan Broyles insists his health is not an issue. Broyles has undergone surgery to repair the ACL in each of his knees over the last two years. But he says that has nothing to do with why he's totaled two catches for 27 yards over the last two weeks despite the injuries to Ryan Broyles and Calvin Johnson. "I feel good," Broyles said. "I feel capable of going out there and making plays. I feel like I want to do more, but whenever Coach calls my number, I'll do the best with it." The slot man isn't a fantasy option until he proves he's part of the gameplan.

Ryan Broyles only played on 29-of-68 snaps in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Packers. Even with Calvin Johnson (knee) inactive, Broyles played far fewer snaps than he did in Week 4. Patrick Edwards and Kris Durham were the Lions' wideouts in two-wide sets, leaving Broyles in his customary slot role. In the two games since Nate Burleson's injury, Broyles has totaled two catches for 27 yards on three targets.

The Lions have listed Ryan Broyles and Kris Durham as their starting wideouts for Sunday's Week 5 game against the Packers. Calvin Johnson (knee) and Nate Burleson (arm) are both inactive. These "official" starting lineup cards sometimes go out the window once the games start, but this suggests Durham will be ahead of Pat Edwards in three-wide sets. The lineup card also lists two starting tight ends -- Brandon Pettigrew and Tony Scheffler. Expect the Lions to compensate for Megatron's absence by jacking up the passing-game usage of Pettigrew and Reggie Bush. Broyles should get peppered with targets, but he's hard to trust after seeing one target on 43 snaps a week ago.

According to the Detroit News, "there will be no leash" on Ryan Broyles (knees) this week. Broyles was on a pitch count in Week 3 as he made his season debut, seeing just 17 snaps. But with Nate Burleson (arm) out and Patrick Edwards (ankle) in doubt, the Lions can't afford any kind of snap limitations against the Bears Sunday. Barring any setbacks, Broyles is going to play in all three-wide sets as the slot receiver -- giving him plenty of PPR upside. "I am definitely ready. I feel good," he said.

Ryan Broyles (knee soreness) says he's ready for a bigger role in the wake of Nate Burleson's (broken arm) injury. Ready or not, Broyles is getting an increased role, so it's good he at least thinks he's ready. Broyles has played just 17 snaps through the Lions' first three games, but should see somewhere between 30-40 in Week 4. Broyles plays the slot. He's on the PPR radar.

The Lions official site says Ryan Broyles will be the team's primary slot receiver going forward. Nate Burleson broke his arm in a car accident Tuesday morning and is out indefinitely. We have no questions about Broyles ability to excel at the slot job and pile up statistics in the Lions' pass-happy scheme. The only question is the status of his troublesome knees. Coming off another ACL tear, Broyles experienced some setbacks during camp and was on a snap count while making his 2013 debut in Week 3. Still, there's enough upside here to make an add in all formats. If Broyles' knees cooperate, he's going to catch a ton of passes.

Coach Jim Schwartz noted that "every time" Ryan Broyles has gotten snaps for the Lions, "he's made plays." Thanks to persistent knee issues stemming from his latest ACL tear, Broyles is on a "pitch count." He 17 snaps in Week 3, catching three three passes for 34 yards. We know Broyles is going to produce when he's on the field because he's a talented and ideal possession receiver for Matthew Stafford. It's worth monitoring his health closely, especially in PPR formats.

Ryan Broyles caught three passes for 34 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins. Broyles was making his season debut after being inactive the first two weeks. He saw just the three targets on the day. Patrick Edwards, the man he was replacing in the lineup, sat out with an ankle injury. Edwards had just three catches for 30 yards in the first two games. Look for Broyles to overtake Edwards in three-wide sets shortly. Broyles is worth a stash in PPR leagues.
