Ryan Broyles has been working with a speed coach this summer.Broyles has suffered two ACL tears and a torn Achilles' the past three years. The Detroit Free Press observed during the spring that Broyles didn't look as explosive as he did in college. That's to be expected. His explosion has been sapped by injuries. He still appears to be the favorite for No. 3 receiver duties, but isn't really on the fantasy radar outside of deeper PPR leagues.

Ryan Broyles has been working with a speed coach this summer. Broyles is coming off two ACL tears and a torn Achilles' the past three years. The Detroit Free Press observed during the spring that Broyles didn't look as explosive as he did in college. That's to be expected. His explosion has been sapped by lower-body injuries. He still appears to be the favorite for No. 3 receiver duties, but isn't really on the fantasy radar outside of deeper PPR leagues.

According to the Detroit Free Press, third-year WR Ryan Broyles is "not as explosive" as he was before tearing both of his ACLs, and his Achilles'. This is to be expected. Whether Broyles regains his college burst is totally up in the air, but beat writer Dave Birkett hints Broyles may still have the inside track on the Lions' No. 3 receiver job, ahead of Kris Durham and return man Jeremy Ross. Broyles' lead was strengthened following rookie T.J. Jones' shoulder surgery. Broyles is worth a look in particularly deep PPR leagues.

Ryan Broyles (Achilles') says he is not limited in any way. Bryoles has torn both his ACLs and his Achilles' tendon since his senior year at Oklahoma. Still, he's remarkably fighting for a roster spot and has been participating in offseason work since April. We'll find out if Broyles' legs are NFL-ready once training camp rolls around.

Lions WR Ryan Broyles (Achilles') is "closing in on a full recovery", and participated in OTAs this week. He practiced at receiver and kickoff returner. "I'm getting right, man," Broyles insisted. "I really am." In training camp, Broyles will try to hold off rookie T.J. Jones to be Detroit's No. 3 receiver, behind Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. Kevin Ogletree, Kris Durham, and Corey Fuller are also in the mix.

Lions GM Martin Mayhew said at his pre-draft press conference that he hasn't thrown in the towel on third-year WR Ryan Broyles. Broyles has torn his Achilles' tendon and both ACLs since his senior year at Oklahoma. He continues to prove a remarkable healer, participating in 2014 pre-draft workouts. "I believe in him," Mayhew insisted of Broyles. "I'm not going to build the whole offense around him, but I believe in that man." Broyles turned 26 last month. He has roughly WR6 value in deep Dynasty leagues.

Ryan Broyles (Achilles') is participating in Lions offseason workouts. Broyles has torn both of his ACLs and his Achilles' tendon through just two seasons in the NFL. He indicated that he's feeling some pressure for his roster spot. "You feel like you have a deadline because there's guys counting on you," said Broyles. "I feel like I have to go in there and prove something and maybe I did that a little bit before my body was ready (last year)." The Lions won't be counting on Broyles for a major 2014 role, though those plans could change with a productive offseason. He's proven to be an amazingly quick healer.

Ryan Broyles (Achilles') has been cleared to participate in offseason workouts. If nothing else, Broyles has proven to be an extremely quick healer. He tore his Achilles' in late October. Broyles probably won't do much in voluntary workouts this week or at OTAs but could be ready to roll for training camp. The Lions can't rely on Broyles, but he'll have a shot to earn the No. 4 or 5 receiver job.

Coach Jim Caldwell said Ryan Broyles (Achilles') will be given a "clean slate" under the new staff. The same goes for Mikel Leshoure. Broyles tore an ACL in 2011, the other ACL in 2012, and his Achilles' last season. He obviously can't be relied upon to stay healthy but will be given another opportunity to showcase his skills this summer. Broyles hopes to be ready for the start of training camp but won't be any higher than No. 4 or 5 on the receiver depth chart.

Lions GM Martin Mayhew was hesitant when asked if he can rely on Ryan Broyles (Achilles'). Broyles injury history should give the Lions plenty of pause. He's torn each of his ACLs and his Achilles' tendon in the last 2 1/2 years. Couple that with the release of Nate Burleson, and we have a team in desperate need of help for Calvin Johnson. Mayhew is fully expected to attack the wideout position in both free agency and the draft.
