Bateman caught all three of his targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
Bateman's role increased in terms of playing time Sunday as his snap count increased from 22 to 42, but that did not lead to an uptick in targets. He caught all three of his targets in the opener for 35 yards and his per-target efficiency this week dropped from 11.7 YPT to 6.0. Odell Beckham aggravated an ankle issue against the Bengals, and it was Nelson Agholor who stepped up with five catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Bateman remains third on the team in snaps among receivers (64) but he is not consistently drawing targets just yet. The former first-rounder was impressive in 2022 (10.2 YPT, two touchdowns on 28 targets) before an injury cut his season short, so it's still too early to jump ship on Bateman being an impact player this year. He'll have an opportunity to break out in Week 3 when Baltimore hosts Indianapolis.

Bateman brought in all three targets for 35 yards in the Ravens' 25-9 win over the Texans on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Bateman's first foray into regular-season action since Week 8 of last season, when a Lisfranc injury cut his 2022 campaign short. The third-year wideout saw rookie Zay Flowers dominate targets in what was a low-volume day overall for the air attack, but Bateman should have a good chance for more work in what projects for a more competitive matchup on the road against the Bengals in Week 2.

Bateman avoided the Ravens' Week 1 injury report and reiterated Wednesday that he's fully recovered from last year's Lisfranc foot surgery and ready to go for Sunday's season opener versus the Texans, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bateman has been snakebitten on the injury front through his first two NFL seasons, missing the first five games of his rookie campaign while recovering from groin surgery and then playing just six games in 2022 before sustaining the foot injury. The 23-year-old has at least looked like a foundational piece for the Baltimore passing attack when healthy, compiling a 61-800-3 receiving line on 96 targets through his first 18 career games. He'll face more competition for targets at receiver in 2023 with the Ravens adding veterans Odell Beckham and Nelson Agholor and first-round draft pick Zay Flowers to the position group, but Bateman still boasts the sort of speed and athleticism to emerge as the No. 1 option among the quartet.

Bateman said Wednesday that his surgically-repaired foot feels "99 percent" healthy, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bateman underwent Lisfranc surgery last November and started training camp on the PUP list. He was activated Aug. 9 and progressed to 11-on-11 work and team drills just last week. As long as he steers clear of any setbacks with the foot coming out of Saturday's preseason finale versus the Buccaneers, Bateman should enter Week 1 without any restrictions. Bateman should be a fixture in three-receiver sets alongside Zay Flowers, and Odell Beckham, with veteran Nelson Agholor subbing in as the No. 4 wideout.

Bateman (foot) returned to practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bateman had missed practice the previous two days, but coach John Harbaugh noted Wednesday that the wideout hadn't experienced any setbacks with his surgically-repaired foot. "There's a process to getting guys back," Harbaugh noted of Bateman. "He's on schedule." As the coming season approaches, the 2021 first-rounder is in line to be a key cog in a revamped Ravens WR corps that also includes veteran newcomers Odell Beckham and Nelson Agholor, as well a promising rookie Zay Flowers. Assuming he can stay healthy, Bateman looks poised for a resurgent campaign in 2023 after being limited to six games and a 15-285-2 receiving line last season.

Bateman (foot) has been limited to individual drills since coming off the active/PUP list, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With regard to Bateman's progress, coach John Harbaugh noted Thursday, "I think we'll see as we go, but it's very promising right now. He looked good to me, and I'm excited to see him out there. Obviously, it's big for us." Either way, the wideout isn't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles, with Baltimore's established starters slated to sit out the contest, according to Hensley.

The Ravens activated Bateman (foot) off the active/PUP list Wednesday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bateman began training camp on the PUP list after receiving a cortisone shot in his foot earlier this offseason, though he did participate in minicamp on a limited basis. Coach John Harbaugh said on the first day of training camp that "Bateman's Lisfranc surgery is good; he's fine," but soreness kept the 2021 first-round pick off the field until now. If the Ravens remain cautious and want to ramp up Bateman's practice load, he could still be held out of Saturday's preseason opener against the Eagles, but it's encouraging for fantasy managers to at least see the wideout back on the field for crucial first-team reps.

Bateman (foot) remains on the active/PUP list, but he was spotted running on an adjacent field during practice Monday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is the first time Bateman has been spotted working during practice since undergoing a cortisone shot earlier this offseason, so it certainly can be considered a positive development. However, it remains unclear when the wideout will be able to participate in practice again. On Friday, head coach John Harbaugh said Bateman "has a chance to be out there pretty soon," but that quote doesn't offer a specific return timeline, either. For now, it appears fantasy managers will just have to play the wait-and-see game.

Coach John Harbaugh noted Friday that Bateman (foot) has "chance to be out there pretty soon," Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Ravens placed Bateman on the active/PUP list to start training camp, but it appears as though he's inching toward a return to practice. That said, Harbaugh declined to give a precise timeframe for when that might occur, so at this stage, the wideout's status for the team's preseason opener (Aug. 12, against the Eagles) remains cloudy.

The Ravens have placed Bateman (foot) on the active/PUP list to start training camp, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hensley notes that Bateman, who was reinstated and activated from the reserve/did not report list Sunday, is still dealing with a foot issue that he dealt with last season. While there isn't a timetable for the wideout's return to practice, Hensley suggests that Bateman may miss the first 1-to-2 weeks of camp.
