Trubisky wants to play in the preseason, but he may not get another chance, Nathan Smith of the Bears' official site reports. "It's not up to me," said Trubisky. "And I definitely believe in the big picture and whatever coach believes in."
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky handed off three times on three snaps in Chicago's preseason opener before turning things over to Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray. Coach Matt Nagy then hinted at resting his starter for the remainder of the preseason, believing Trubisky's work in practice is sufficient to get him ready for Week 1. A few reporters have suggested that Trubisky is having a tough time against the star-studded Bears defense at training camp, but Nagy says his quarterback is "way past" where he was at the same time last year, per Tom Pelissero of NFL.com.

Trubisky started the preseason opener against the Panthers, handing the ball off three times to Mike Davis before exiting for the night.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from David Montgomery, Trubisky was the only skill position starter to take the field in this contest. It's unclear as to how much work he'll see in preseason games, but going into his second year in Matt Nagy's offense, it's possible that after Chicago was in the bottom-third of the league in pass attempts, the quarterback could see an increase in opportunity. For now, he's being drafted as a backup in fantasy leagues, but if this offense breaks out, Trubisky could crush his draft position.

Trubisky feels much more confident in his second season under coach Matt Nagy, John Kampf of The News-Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The core of the Chicago offense looks quite similar to last season, only with Mike Davis and David Montgomery replacing Jordan Howard in the backfield while Cordarrelle Patterson potentially adds a new wrinkle to both the passing game and rushing attack. The offseason moves show an emphasis on versatility, with the Bears presumably hoping to use their running backs as receiving threats and their wide receivers as occasional ballcarriers. Trubisky's individual growth will be the most important factor, but there's additional potential for major development with Anthony Miller, who was limited by shoulder injuries throughout this rookie season. It also can't hurt to have Allen Robinson further removed from the ACL tear that wiped out his 2017 campaign in Jacksonville, and Trey Burton (sports hernia) could be a bit better in his second season as a starter.

Trubisky completed 26 of 43 passes for 303 yards and one touchdown in the Bears' 16-15 playoff loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky started off slowly, getting away with two passes that should've been intercepted, but in the fourth quarter, he started throwing downfield, which allowed him to move the ball almost at will and leading him to a 300-yard effort. While breaking out in the regular season, he threw for 3,223 yards with 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while adding 421 yards and three scores on the ground. Despite his solid numbers, he was an erratic fantasy option who showed outstanding upside, but he ended the season with just five touchdown passes over his last five games. Going into the third year of his rookie deal, he should continue to grow in his second year in Matt Nagy's offense.

Trubisky completed 18 of 26 passes for 163 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Bears' 24-10 win over the Vikings on Sunday. He also rushed three times for 16 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky's numbers certainly weren't anything to write home about, but considering he was playing without Allen Robinson (ribs), the downturn in production is at least somewhat understandable. The second-year signal-caller remained mistake-free, certainly key to Chicago securing the No. 3 seed in the NFC in a normally tough road environment. Trubisky now heads into a first-round home playoff clash next weekend against the Eagles on a three-game interception-less streak, although he also failed to reach the 200-yard mark through the air in three of the last five regular-season games. He'll look to up his production versus a Philadelphia secondary that's often proven vulnerable this season.

Trubisky completed 25-of-29 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown while adding three yards on the ground in Chicago's 14-9 victory over the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Although the Bears trailed at the half, this game was close throughout, allowing Trubisky to function mostly as a game manager in a contest the team was able to control. After being a strong fantasy performer throughout the middle of the season, he's averaged just 189 yards and 1.25 passing TDs over his last four games, and he's turned into a low-upside fantasy option going into a tough Week 17 matchup at Minnesota.

Trubisky completed 20 of 28 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 24-17 win over the Packers. He added 16 yards on three carries. He fumbled during the contest, but it was recovered by the offense.
EDGE Analysis
Chicago's defense, again, kept Trubisky in it until the end and the second-year passer delivered. With the game tied at 14 early in the fourth quarter, Trubisky threw a strike to the out-breaking tight end, Trey Burton, for a 13-yard score. Chicago never gave up the lead. The boxscore isn't going to wow many people, but -- after five picks in his previous two games -- a careful, efficient performance by Trubisky was a welcome sight. With that defense, Chicago will be hard to stop if their quarterback keeps that up. Next Sunday features a visit to San Francisco and a bottom-five pass defense in terms of opponent passer rating at 102.1.

Trubisky (shoulder) practiced in full capacity Friday for the third straight day and will reclaim his starting role Sunday against the Rams, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off a two-game absence due to the sprained throwing shoulder, Trubisky's ability to take every rep in practice this week erased any concern about his availability for a matchup with two of the NFC's top squads. Chase Daniel, who led the Bears to a 1-1 record while Trubisky was sidelined, will settle back into the No. 2 role, while the third quarterback on the depth chart, Tyler Bray, could soon be a roster casualty. Prior to getting hurt, Trubisky had made major strides in his second season with a 65.4 percent completion rate, 7.7 yards per attempt and a 20:9 TD:INT while also offering value on the ground (363 rushing yards and three touchdowns). It's possible the Bears will encourage Trubisky to limit his scrambling and exposure to contact down the stretch to keep his throwing arm in optimal condition.

Trubisky (shoulder) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky backed up his own optimism as well as that of coach Matt Nagy, kicking off the week without any limitations at practice. The 24-year-old quarterback is on track to return from a two-week absence for Sunday's home game against the Rams. Only four teams have give up more passing touchdowns (26) and only five have allowed more yards per pass attempt (8.0), but the Rams defense has more than held its own against QBs not named Brees or Mahomes.

Trubisky said his "arm feels really good" and his right throwing shoulder is "ahead of schedule," Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
After Matt Nagy relayed his expectation that Trubisky will return Sunday versus the Rams, the quarterback agreed with his boss, saying he "just has to show coach." Trubisky added he's "throwing as much" as the training staff is allowing him to with the intention to start this weekend. In the end, though, his activity level in practice will determine whether an appearance is possible. If Trubisky doesn't prove himself ready to play, Chase Daniel will be under center for a third consecutive game Sunday.
