The Colts reportedly explored the possibility of signing Matt Hasselbeck after the lockout was lifted. The interest in Hasselbeck suggests the Colts have been concerned about Peyton Manning's neck long before the signing of Kerry Collins. We still tend to side with Tony Dungy's prediction that Manning will be under center in Week 1 unless he's dead.

Titans agreed to terms with Matt Hasselbeck on a multi-year deal. It's good news for the entire Titans offense. No. 8 overall pick Jake Locker has been deemed not ready yet by the front office and Hasselbeck will serve as a capable bridge for at least one year. Although he'll be 36 in September and is coming off a 12-touchdown, 17-interception year in Seattle, Hasselbeck can still run a short passing game well. He'll also be an excellent mentor and teacher to Locker.
