Matt Hasselbeck completed 30-of-42 passes for 358 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Ravens in Week 2.
If defenses are going to continue to stack the box to stop Chris Johnson, Hasselbeck showed Sunday that he has the weapons to make them pay. Kenny Britt and Nate Washington both burned the Ravens on deep balls, combining for 234 yards on 16 receptions from a pin-point Hasselbeck. With more skill-position talent than he's enjoyed in years, Hasselbeck has averaged 310.5 yards through two games. The Titans' aerial attack figures to exceed expectations this year.

Matt Hasselbeck completed 21-of-34 passes for 263 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Titans' Week 1 loss to Jacksonville.
He also had a nine-yard scramble. Hasselbeck's numbers don't look bad on paper, but game-watchers know that the Tennessee offense was in shambles all day. If not for big-time plays for two touchdowns by Kenny Britt, Hasselbeck's production would have been much more pedestrian. The Titans' offensive line struggled badly in protection against the Jags, so it's scary to think what might happen against good defenses. They play the Ravens in Week 2.

Matt Hasselbeck completed 12-of-22 passes for 135 yards and scrambled once for a gain of seven in Tennessee's third preseason game.
Hasselbeck took a step back in terms of efficiency from his previous preseason performances, but he's yet to play a single exhibition with Kenny Britt and has consistently looked in command of the offense. Through three practice games, Hasselbeck has completed 24-of-37 passes for 264 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. The Titans' offensive line has kept him upright for the most part; he's only been sacked once. Consider Hasselbeck a low-end QB2 in fantasy leagues.

The Colts reportedly explored the possibility of signing Matt Hasselbeck after the lockout was lifted.
The interest in Hasselbeck suggests the Colts have been concerned about Peyton Manning's neck long before the signing of Kerry Collins. We still tend to side with Tony Dungy's prediction that Manning will be under center in Week 1 unless he's dead.

Matt Hasselbeck (tongue) returned to Titans practice Wednesday.
Hasselbeck bit his tongue hard enough to draw blood in the Titans' second preseason game, but the "injury" was never close to a long-term concern. "(But) I need to find a good dentist," he joked. "See if they've got any good tricks for me."

Matt Hasselbeck left Saturday's preseason game after biting his tongue while taking a hit.
The "injury" is obviously not a concern. It was originally reported that Hasselbeck had his wind knocked out, but the key note here is that the veteran did not suffer a concussion. Hasselbeck has missed just four games over the last two seasons even though he will be 36 next month.

Matt Hasselbeck was forced from Tennessee's preseason game against the Rams in the second quarter on Saturday after having his "wind knocked out."
Hasselbeck stayed down on the ground for a few moments after hitting his head on the turf, but was able to walk off the field under his own power. He was replaced at quarterback by Jake Locker, but appeared to be fine on the sidelines. His status should be updated later this evening, but it sounds like Hasselbeck has avoided a concussion.

Matt Hasselbeck revealed that he chose the Titans over the 49ers after the lockout was lifted.
Hasselbeck cited his comfort with coach Mike Munchak and the Titans' superior offensive line as the deciding factors. Hasselbeck's revelation suggests coach Jim Harbaugh hasn't been nearly as sold on Alex Smith as his offseason comments would indicate.

Matt Hasselbeck completed 5-of-6 passes for 55 yards in Tennessee's preseason opener on Saturday.
He played only one series. Hasselbeck did fumble (it was recovered by Tennessee), and just one of his completions went for longer than 10 yards. However, it was still a reassuring performance for Titans fans that have become accustomed to chaos and inefficiency under center. Hasselbeck should see more extensive action when the Titans take on the Rams next Saturday.

Titans agreed to terms with Matt Hasselbeck on a multi-year deal.
It's good news for the entire Titans offense. No. 8 overall pick Jake Locker has been deemed not ready yet by the front office and Hasselbeck will serve as a capable bridge for at least one year. Although he'll be 36 in September and is coming off a 12-touchdown, 17-interception year in Seattle, Hasselbeck can still run a short passing game well. He'll also be an excellent mentor and teacher to Locker.
