Matt Hasselbeck (calf) could be a "stretch" for Week 15, according to beat writer Jim Wyatt.
Hasselbeck's injury is not thought to be serious, but there's little reason for him to play at less than 100 percent. Even when the veteran is fully healthy, rookie Jake Locker is more likely to threaten defenses. Locker ran for one touchdown and threw for another in Sunday's narrow loss to the Saints.

Although Matt Hasselbeck admits he felt something "pop" in his left calf on Sunday, coach Mike Munchak is optimistic about his status for Week 15.
"The fact that he was able to go back in and at least do a little something, move around a little bit, was at least a positive," Munchak said. "At first we thought it was worse." Hasselbeck could reportedly barely stand on the sideline, but was able to spell a shaken up Jake Locker for one play in the second half. Although Locker provided a much needed spark in Hasselbeck's absence, Hasselbeck is the early favorite to start in Week 15.

Matt Hasselbeck will have an MRI Monday on his strained left calf.
Early signs on Hasselbeck are good. He was able to hobble back onto the field for one fourth-quarter play, said he wasn't in pain after the game and the damage is not thought to be to his Achilles' tendon. The veteran also said he could have finished out the game if he really needed to. Still, the Titans could use this injury as an excuse to turn to promising rookie Jake Locker.

Matt Hasselbeck (calf) said he could have finished the Week 14 loss to the Saints, but Jake Locker could do more physically.
Hasselbeck did limp back onto the field for one play in the fourth quarter when Locker was shaken up, so he could have gutted it out at less than 100 percent. Hasselbeck added that his calf wasn't sore after the game, which certainly bodes well for the veteran's Week 15 status. Coach Mike Munchak simply said that Hasselbeck will be evaluated throughout the week.

Matt Hasselbeck left Sunday's game against the Saints in the second quarter with a leg injury.
Hasselbeck had a pass batted straight into the air by a Saints' defensive lineman. He went to jump to bat it down, but appeared to pull his calf or damage his Achilles' tendon. Jake Locker has come on as the Titans work on Hasselbeck on the sideline training table.

Matt Hasselbeck completed 16-of-25 passes for 140 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's win over the Bills.
The Titans struggled in the time of possession department for much of the first half, leading to a minor role for Hasselbeck. Chris Johnson was once again ripping off long runs at will and then they sat on a two-score lead for the majority of the second half. Hasselbeck hasn't topped 160 passing yards in any of the last there weeks and is on pace for just 20 touchdown passes this season.

Matt Hasselbeck completed 19-of-34 passes for 160 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against the Bucs in Week 12.
Hasselbeck managed just 53.6 passer rating and 4.7 yards per attempt, but was saved by a strong ground attack. Perhaps his leash is longer than expected, as the Titans had reason to turn to Jake Locker had they so desired. With just one game over 250 yards in the last six, Hasselbeck can't be trusted at Buffalo in Week 13.

Matt Hasselbeck (elbow) is listed as probable for Week 12.
Hasselbeck practiced fully on Thursday and Friday and will start Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. We wouldn't be surprised if he's on a short leash after being thoroughly outplayed by Jake Locker in Atlanta last week.

Titans coach Mike Munchak confirmed Wednesday that Matt Hasselbeck (elbow, arm) is on track to start against the Bucs in Week 12.
"If it was up to us, we probably wouldn't have practiced him at all," said Munchak. "... He wanted obviously to be out here and get some throws and do some things." Hasselbeck turned in a limited practice Wednesday, and told Tampa reporters on a conference call that he will in the starting lineup against the Bucs. Rookie Jake Locker will have to wait a little while longer.
