Redskins SS LaRon Landry is not expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Landry has been dealing with soreness from an Achilles injury that sidelined him for the final seven weeks of last season. Reed Doughty will start and see increased playing time at strong safety and OT Jammal Brown "should be good to go," barring a late setback.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry is feeling soreness in his troublesome left Achilles' tendon.
It's a concern as this same injury caused Landry to miss the final seven weeks of last season. And free safety O.J. Atogwe has missed two of the last three games with a knee injury, so this secondary is banged up. Brandon Marshall is a quality WR2 option this week.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry's brief absence from Sunday's win over the Rams was not related to his recent hamstring or Achilles' tendon ailments.
According to HC Mike Shanahan, Landry "went off to the restroom" because "something happened." Whatever that "something" was, it was not an aggravation of either of Landry's recent injuries. Through two games, he has seven tackles and a forced fumble.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry was forced from Sunday's game against the Rams with an undisclosed injury.
Landry went to the locker room early in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Reed Doughty for a series before returning. It's possible he tweaked either his Achiles' tendon or hamstring ailment, but it appears he's dodged a bullet.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry (Achilles, hamstring) recorded four tackles and a forced fumble in his return to action Monday night.
In his first game since Week 10 of last season, Landry was a difference-maker despite being spelled at times by Reed Doughty. Although the stats don't show it, Landy showed impressive closing speed, hitting ability and instincts. He will only get better as he gets his feet back under him. IDP owners need to take notice.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry is active for Monday night's game against Dallas.
The Skins' inactives are WR Donte' Stallworth, S DeJon Gomes, FB Darrel Young, LB Markus White, OL Willie Smith, WR Leonard Hankerson, and DE Darrion Scott. Mike Sellers will replace the injured Young at fullback. Landry's return should provide an instant boost to Washington's run defense. He does most of his damage close to the line of scrimmage as a "box" safety.

NBC 4 in Washington is reporting that Redskins SS LaRon Landry (Achilles, hamstring) will start Monday night's game against Dallas.
Landry hasn't played a snap since he went on I.R. last year -- either in an exhibition or regular season game -- so the Skins could conceivably ease him in with an early-down only role. Regardless, he should upgrade the run defense.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry (Achilles', hamstring) was limited in practice Saturday, and is questionable for Week 3.
Landry said Tuesday that he'd be active against the Cowboys, but it's far from a slam dunk that he'll suit up this week. If he doesn't, Reed Doughty will again get the start in his absence.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry (Achilles', hamstring) said he will play in Monday night's game against the Cowboys.
Landry has been vague about his status before, but he said "of course" he will play this week. His return would be a big boost to the Redskins and IDP owners alike. Landry is a difference-maker in the secondary and allows O.J. Atogwe to return to his free safety spot. Reed Doughty would head back to the bench if Landry really does suit up.

Redskins SS LaRon Landry (Achilles', hamstring) is out for Week 2, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.
The writing was on the wall for this one, as news out of Washington earlier in the week was pessimistic at best. Landry still has no timetable for a return. He'll be replaced by O.J. Atogwe, with Reed Doughty starting at free safety. Teammate Brian Orakpo (ankle, questionable) will play.
