Colts SS LaRon Landry (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Chargers. Landry didn't practice at all this week, so this comes as no surprise. Delano Howell will get another start. Look for Landry to return next week.

The Colts expect SS LaRon Landry (ankle) and DE Ricky Jean-Francois (groin) back in Week 6. They've both been ruled out for Week 5 against the Seahawks. The Colts' defense didn't miss a beat without Landry or "RJF" last week, though they were facing Blaine Gabbert and the Jaguars. Landry and Jean-Francois are both core run defenders. Their absences improve Marshawn Lynch's fantasy matchup.

Colts SS LaRon Landry (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 4. This'll be Landry's second straight missed game, suggesting he's battling a high ankle sprain. Delano Howell held up well in place of Landry last week at Candlestick, and will get another start Sunday against Jacksonville.

Colts SS LaRon Landry (ankle) is not practicing Wednesday. Landry was held out of Sunday's game with an ankle injury and remains day-to-day. Delano Howell started at strong safety in his absence and will continue to fill in until he's ready to return.

Colts SS LaRon Landry (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 3 at San Francisco. After a slow start, Landry's absence is more reason to believe this'll be Frank Gore's 2013 breakout performance. Landry has shown up big time on early-season tape; he's been a top-four safety per Pro Football Focus' grades.

Colts signed S LaRon Landry, formerly of the Jets, to a four-year, $24 million contract. The deal includes $14 million guaranteed. It's a boon for a player who gambled on himself last offseason and took a one-year deal with Gang Green. One of the hardest hitters in the league, Landry is a playmaker who's stout in the box. He adds presence to a defense that was one of the softest in the NFL last season. The only concern is his health. Landry appeared in all 16 games for the Jets last season, but missed 15 contests between 2009-10.

The New York Daily News reports free agent SS LaRon Landry is "likely" to sign with the Colts. Jets beat writer Manish Mehta is keeping tabs on Landry because he played for the Jets last year, essentially resurrecting his career. Although Landry has a Thursday visited scheduled with the 49ers, he is not expected to get out of Indy following Wednesday's Colts visit. Signing Landry would shore up the Colts' secondary. They have Vontae Davis at right corner, Greg Toler to play the left, Darius Butler at slot cornerback, and Antoine Bethea at free safety. Landry would play strong safety, primarily in the box.

Free agent SS LaRon Landry has a Thursday visit scheduled with the 49ers if the Colts let him get out of town. The Colts are trying to close the deal -- Landry is currently at their facility -- but it's a reminder that he has alternative suitors. We're still not sure about the fit in San Francisco. The 49ers would presumably release Donte Whitner.

The Indy Star's Phillip B. Wilson tweeted Tuesday night that he "wouldn't be surprised" if the Colts signed free agent LaRon Landry. Landry's first free-agent visit was to Indianapolis. The Colts are still flush with salary cap space and need a strong safety. Landry could be the final puzzle piece to a revamped secondary that added Greg Toler and re-upped Darius Butler. If Landy leaves Indy without a deal, he'll reportedly visit the Cardinals, Lions and 49ers.
