Josh Freeman completed 18-of-30 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns, also scrambling five times for 22 yards, as the Buccaneers took down the Raiders 42-32 in Week 9. Tampa Bay Bucs: Fantasy juggernaut? Freeman's accuracy and mechanics remain major works in progress, but he's on fire throwing 50:50 balls downfield to his big vertical receivers. Red-hot Doug Martin is also giving Freeman a wide-open field off play action. Freeman, at the halfway point, is on pace for career highs in passing yards (4,094), TD-to-INT ratio (32:10), and yards per pass attempt (8.09). The Bucs appear to have genuinely hit a groove on offense, and Freeman will be difficult to keep out of QB1 slots in a Week 10 home date with San Diego.

Josh Freeman completed 15-of-26 passes for 328 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against the Chiefs in Week 6. Freeman simply put the ball up and let his receivers make plays down the field. Mike Williams and Tiquan Underwood both had fluky long gainers with defenders falling down after the catch. The 12.6 YPA is the highest of Freeman's career, the 328 yards the second-highest, and the 124.7 passer rating the fourth-highest. Although Freeman's boffo performance speaks more about opponent and luck, he has a chance for back-to-back fantasy feasts with tasty matchup versus the Saints in Week 7.

Josh Freeman completed 24-of-39 passes for 299 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Bucs' Week 4 loss to the Redskins. Freeman was at his worst in the first half, throwing inaccurately and missing reads. Something clicked at halftime as he came out and proceeded to havehis best two quarters of the season. Freeman gave his wideouts shot at deep balls and aggressively targeted Vincent Jackson. Perhaps this will snap him out of his checkdown mentality. Freeman is now on pace for 3,160 yards, 20 touchdowns and 16 interceptions heading into the bye.

After struggling to throw the ball deep last season, Josh Freeman has completed 8-of-14 attempts of at least 15 yards downfield this season. This downfield success is due in large part to Vincent Jackson, who has caught six passes of 15-plus yards this season. Since the start of last season, Jackson is the NFL leader in targets over 15 yards with 72 of them. Last week, he was the first Buccaneers wide receiver with 125 yards and a touchdown since Antonio Bryant in Week 16 of the 2008 season.

Josh Freeman completed 15-of-28 passes for 243 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Bucs' Week 2 loss to the Giants. Freeman started off hot, completing six of his first seven passes, but was outdueled by Eli Manning in the second-half. The Buccaneers run a conservative, run-balanced offense, so continue to view Freeman as QB2 option in fantasy leagues. His touchdowns came on a pair of 41-yard passes to Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams.

Per beat writer Ira Kaufman, there is "growing concern" within the Bucs organization regarding Josh Freeman's accuracy. Freeman has completed just 52.9 percent of his passes through three preseason games and has a career mark of 60.5. They are really low numbers considering how many checkdowns he's throwing. Combine that with the Bucs' conservative offensive scheme and we have a really weak QB2 option in fantasy circles.

Josh Freeman completed 10-of-19 passes for 102 yards in the Buccaneers' third preseason game Friday night against New England. Through three preseason games, Freeman is 18-of-34 (52.9 percent) for 164 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. While he's showed a nice rapport with Vincent Jackson, Freeman's shaky performances lead us to believe he's not a desirable QB2. Freeman has looked uncomfortable in new OC Mike Sullivan's offense, and often too willing to accept checkdowns instead of testing deep.

The Tampa Bay Times suggests Josh Freeman could get off to a slow start this season in the Bucs' new offense. New OC Mike Sullivan's scheme requires Freeman to "do and understand more than ever before," making pre-snap reads and adjusting pass routes at the line of scrimmage based on them. "It's going to be a process," writes beat reporter Stephen Holder, who anticipates "hiccups" early in the season. The Bucs are also going with a run-first offense, hurting Freeman's fantasy football appeal.
