Coach Mike Smith will remove play-count restrictions from DE John Abraham for the playoffs. Abraham has been rotating with Kroy Biermann and Ray Edwards to keep him fresh at age 33 after an early-season groin injury. Leading the team with 9.5 sacks, Abraham is essentially the Falcons' lone pass rusher.

Falcons RE John Abraham racked up 3.5 sacks against the Jaguars in Week 15. All of the sacks came by the first drive of the third quarter, as Abraham took full advantage of Blaine Gabbert's brutal pocket presence. Abraham torched Gabbert for fumbles on consecutive series, the latter of which went for a 13-yard Corey Peters touchdown. Abraham is up to 8.5 sacks in his age-33 season.

Falcons RE John Abraham returned to the field in Sunday's win over the Panthers. Abraham missed Week 5, but bounced back well yesterday. He recorded two tackles and one quarterback hit.
