The New York Daily News reports the Jets have "expressed interest" in a reunion with free agent Jerricho Cotchery.
Cut by the Jets last August, Cotchery posted a 16/237/2 line in 13 games for the Steelers last season. Even taking into account the sorry state of the Jets' receiver corps, Cotchery would be little more than a depth signing.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers are "negotiating" with free agent Jerricho Cotchery, but that he's likely to walk if he reaches the open market.
Beginning next Tuesday, the Steelers' biggest concern will be the status of restricted free agent Mike Wallace. Cotchery will be greeted by a quiet market after catching just 16 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns last season. Cotchery took a week to find a new deal after being released by the Jets last summer.

The Steelers are not expected to re-sign free agent Jerricho Cotchery before the beginning of free agency.
The Steelers remain in talks with Cotchery's agent, but GM Kevin Colbert has predicted the team won't make any signings before March 13. Cotchery will almost certainly have to wait for the status of restricted free agent Mike Wallace to be resolved before learning his Steelers' future.

The player rep for free agent Jerricho Cotchery had "productive talks" with the Steelers at the Combine last weekend.
"Jerricho would very much like to be back," said the agent. The Steelers can offer Cotchery an increased role with Hines Ward out of the picture, but the veteran free agent has made it clear that a multi-year contract is a top priority.

Ben Roethlisberger is pushing for the Steelers to re-sign free agent Jerricho Cotchery now that Hines Ward has been released.
"Without Hines, I think you have to do everything you can to sign Jerricho back," said Roethlisberger. Cotchery played well in limited action as the fourth and fifth receiver last season. If the Steelers don't offer a multi-year contract, he's likely headed for greener pastures as a No. 3 receiver.

Free agent Jerricho Cotchery is hoping that the Steelers offer him a multi-year contract.
Cotchery, who turns 30 in June, can still play at a respectable level, but is dealing in wishful thinking here. "In exit meetings, it was pretty much stated that they were very pleased with me, who I was on the field and off the field," he said. Cotchery would only be a No. 4 receiver in Pittsburgh. The Steelers may offer him a multi-year deal, but it wouldn't be lucrative.

Impending free agent Jerricho Cotchery caught a 31-yard touchdown pass in the Steelers' Wild Card round loss to Denver.
Ben Roethlisberger rolled out of the pocket and made a big-time throw to Cotchery near the front of the end zone on the 29-year-old's lone playoff catch. Cotchery has enough left in the tank to be some team's No. 3 receiver in 2012. He was the No. 4 in Pittsburgh. Expect Cotchery to test the market in mid-March.

Jerricho Cotchery was held without a catch in Sunday's win over the Chiefs.
Cotchery might as well have been inactive, as he was targeted just once with Emmanuel Sanders back in the lineup, and no longer ahead of Hines Ward in three and four-receiver sets. His brief flirtation with WR5/6 status in deeper leagues has come to an end.

Jerricho Cotchery caught two passes for 29 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals in Week 10.
Cotchery could have had three scores, but Ben Roethlisberger threw behind him on one pass and another touchdown was called back due to a Heath Miller penalty. Cotchery played ahead of Hines Ward in most three-wide sets, perhaps a sign of things to come entering the Week 11 bye.

Jerricho Cotchery (knee) returned to a full practice on Thursday.
Cotchery is expected to play against the Bengals, but he'll be stuck as the fourth receiver with Hines Ward (head) also returning. There's no fantasy value here.
