The Titans have reportedly "inquired" about free agent Jerricho Cotchery. It may hint at concern about Kenny Britt's possible 2011 suspension. Cotchery would be an upgrade on No. 3/4 receiver Justin Gage, although the Titans should be careful to allow plenty of playing time for Damian Williams. Per Cotchery's agent, he is fully recovered and "ready to go" after offseason back surgery.

Free agent Jerricho Cotchery actually wanted out of the Jets organization, according to the team. ESPN is citing two sources that confirm the Jets' claim. It turns out that Cotchery asked for a trade or to be released as he's grown frustrated with the Jets constantly acquiring wideouts. The "final straw" was when Plaxico Burress signed. "He feels disrespected by the moves from the past two years, with the trades and being relegated to the third receiver," a player close to Cotchery told ESPN. Cotchery would have a decent shot at winning a No. 2 gig if he lands in San Diego.

Jets released WR Jerricho Cotchery. The Jets announced the anticipated move Thursday afternoon. Cotchery, 29, was healthy coming off back surgery, but the cap-strapped Jets saved $2 million under the cap and $1.8 million worth of salary by making the move. His replacement is expected to be Derrick Mason. National reporters have speculated that Cotchery could resurface in San Diego with former college teammate Phillip Rivers. The two played together at North Carolina State.

Jets placed WR Jerricho Cotchery (back) and RG Brandon Moore (hip) on active/PUP. Cotchery received the go-ahead from his own doctor two weeks, but the Jets aren't ready to throw him back into the mix just yet. We've seen multiple reports that the front office was calling around the league to gauge interest in Cotchery over the weekend. Moore is five months removed from hip surgery.

Michael Lombardi reported on NFL Network Monday that Jerricho Cotchery is available in trade for "the right price in the right deal." The Jets have explored the "possibility of trading Cotchery," in large part to utilize his cap space for other moves. Even if they're not admitting it publicly, Cotchery's offseason back surgery is also a factor. Unless the right price is a mid-to-late round pick, we don't envision Cotchery drawing much interest as a health risk coming off a disappointing season.

Jerricho Cotchery (back surgery) has received the go-ahead from his own doctor to resume all football related activities. Cotchery has already been cutting and running routes, but he still expects the Jets to ease him back slowly as a precaution. He played through the herniated disc last year, which contributed to a disappointing output as the Jets' third receiver. We suspect he'll back in the same role this year.
