Eagles agreed to terms with WR Jeremy Maclin on a one-year, $3.5 million contract with a max value of $6 million.
It's a master stroke by the Eagles, keeping 25-year-old Maclin off the market where he surely would've been a hot commodity despite last year's ACL tear. Maclin is fully expected to be ready by training camp. Turning 26 in May, Maclin posted a 69-857-7 season in 2012 and will return to compete with Riley Cooper for No. 2 receiver duties in Chip Kelly's attack. The Eagles are highly run based and Maclin will struggle for consistent week-to-week targets, making him a borderline WR3 as it pertains to fantasy. In real-life football, Maclin's return combined with Cooper and Zach Ertz's ascension gives Kelly's offense a shot at being even more "multiple" and explosive than the 2013 version, which ranked No. 2 in the NFL in total yards and No. 4 in points scored.

ESPN's Adam Caplan reported on NFL Insiders that "4-6 teams" are expected to have interest in free agent Jeremy Maclin if he hits the market.
Caplan spoke to "several executives" at the Combine who were under the impression Maclin's surgically repaired knee is doing "great." From a financial perspective, it would certainly seem in Maclin's best interest to test the open market, where he'll be the second most coveted wideout behind Eric Decker. Maclin seemingly prefers to return to Philly, though, targeting a one-year deal.

Profootballtalk reports free agent Jeremy Maclin prefers a one-year, "prove it" deal with the Eagles, while the team wants a multi-year contract.
Maclin wants to prove he's healthy with an eye towards a bigger payday in 2015, while the Eagles see an opportunity to lock up a premium talent at below market value. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Wednesday the sides were expected to agree to a one-year deal. Even if the Eagles are holding out hope for a multi-year pact, a one-year agreement ultimately makes the most sense.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the Eagles are expected to re-sign free agent Jeremy Maclin to a one-year contract.
The Eagles and Riley Cooper are hammering out a new deal at this moment. It appears Philadelphia wants to lock up both free-agent receivers before the market opens on March 11. Beat writer Jeff McLane says Maclin's deal will "most likely" be a one-year, "show me" contract in an effort to rehab his value after tearing his ACL last July. Maclin would be the favorite for No. 2 duties.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the Eagles prioritize keeping free agent Jeremy Maclin over Riley Cooper.
Per beat reporter Jeff McLane, the Eagles "plan" is to retain Maclin to a one-year contract and attempt to acquire another starting-caliber receiver. Cooper remains "on the radar," but securing Maclin will take precedence. Maclin has been connected to multiple teams this offseason, but could be re-signed before free agency.

Free agent Jeremy Maclin reiterated his desire to re-sign with the Eagles.
"I know that everything is going to work out how they're supposed to work out," Maclin said. "I've always stated this is where I want to be. The Eagles have stated the same thing. So, we'll continue to get on the same page with all that and, like I said, get something done." Maclin has possibly been the free agent in the news the most since the season ended, getting connected to multiple teams. He's our No. 2 free-agent receiver, behind Eric Decker.

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini expects the Jets' cap savings from Santonio Holmes' forthcoming release to go "immediately toward buying a new receiver in free agency."
Assuming both hit the market, the Jets are expected to pursue Jeremy Maclin and Emmanuel Sanders beginning on March 11. The Holmes cut will save $8.25 million in cap space, and the Jets are already in a good financial position even before that move is made. Maclin has history with Jets OC Marty Mornhinweg from their time together in Philly. Sanders should be pretty affordable.

The New York Daily News reports the Jets "covet" free agent wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Emmanuel Sanders.
The Jets are expected to express interest in fellow free agent Eric Decker, but it's believed he'll land elsewhere. Gang Green knows it needs to upgrade/overhaul its receiving corps. The Jets were 31st in passing this past season. Maclin could come relatively cheap on a one-year deal due to the fact he's recovering from a second ACL tear. He's our No. 2 free agent receiver behind Decker, while Sanders checks in at No. 9. The Jets have nearly $30 million in cap space.
