The Kansas City Star expects the Chiefs to show interest in free agent Jeremy Maclin this offseason. Maclin has struggled with injuries throughout his career and missed all of 2013 with a torn ACL. He's expected to be medically cleared for the start of training camp, but could have to settle for a one-year, incentive-based contract to reestablish his value. Maclin was drafted by Andy Reid in Philadelphia and could be a fit as a complement to Dwayne Bowe. Rotoworld currently ranks him as the No. 2 free agent wideout.

Impending free agent Jeremy Maclin reiterated Monday that he's willing to accept a one-year deal. "I understand it could be a possibility that (the ACL tear) may scare some teams off, or a team may want to do a one-year deal as opposed to a long-term contract," Maclin said Monday. "That's the game, that's the business." Maclin also said he's open to re-signing with the Eagles, and that the sides have "had talks." Although Maclin's knee is obviously a stumbling block, he's still only 26 (in May). Unless his medicals are a nightmare, his upside should net him some multi-year offers. Considering the state of the Eagles' receiver corps outside of DeSean Jackson, there's a strong chance Maclin will be back in Philly.

Impending free agent Jeremy Maclin realizes he may have to settle for a one-year deal. "I'm a realist, so I understand that that's a possibility," Maclin said. Maclin is coming off a second ACL tear. He's currently running and will soon ramp up his rehab and begin running side-to-side. Maclin has previously stated that he anticipates being ready for the start of spring practices in April. The Eagles seem interested in re-signing both Maclin and Riley Cooper.

Impending free agent Jeremy Maclin said his preference is to re-sign with the Eagles. The Eagles are likely to let the market determine Maclin's price tag. Since he's coming off a second ACL tear, he might have to settle for a one-year "prove it" deal to rehab his value. If that's the case, a low-risk reunion with the Eagles would make sense -- especially with Riley Cooper also ticketed for free agency.

Impending free agent Jeremy Maclin reiterated (torn ACL) that he's ahead of schedule in his recovery and anticipates being ready for spring practices in April. Maclin tore his right ACL on July 27 and underwent surgery on August 6. It's unclear if the Eagles are interested in bringing him back, but both Maclin and Riley Cooper are set to become free agents on March 11. Maclin should be ready in plenty of time for training camp. He may have to settle for a one-year deal to rehab his value after a second ACL tear.

Jeremy Maclin (torn ACL, injured reserve) says he's ahead of schedule in his rehab. Maclin tore his right ACL on July 27 and underwent successful surgery August 6. He should be ready in plenty of time for next season. However, Maclin is scheduled to hit free agency in March. He doesn't anticipate having to work out for teams wary of signing a free agent with a history of knee injuries. Maclin said he wants to return to the Eagles. They could definitely use him.

Eagles placed Jeremy Maclin on injured reserve with a torn right ACL, ending his season. It's the same knee Maclin tore up in college. Maclin has the reputation of being an injury-prone player, but had missed just five games through his first four NFL seasons. The timing for the first major injury of his pro career couldn't be worse, however, as he'll hit the open market this offseason. It's possible he'll be limited to incentive-laden, one-year offers, especially considering the "market correction" that took place this spring. Maclin turned 25 in May. Mediocre talent Riley Cooper is getting the first shot at replacing Maclin in the starting lineup.

Jeremy Maclin's right ACL surgery will take place on Tuesday, July 30. Initial fears had Maclin tearing two knee ligaments, but he escaped with a clean ACL injury and should recover fully by the start of the 2014 season. For Maclin's NFL market value -- he's a 2014 free agent -- it's actually better that this injury occurred so early in the process, allowing more recovery time. Maclin still may have to settle for one-year prove-it offers next spring.

Updating a previous item, Jeremy Maclin tore his right ACL in Saturday's training camp practice and will miss the entire 2013 season. It's a crushing blow. Maclin was entering a contract year and was genuinely excited about his upcoming role in coach Chip Kelly's offense. The Eagles don't have a quality backup to Maclin; Riley Cooper will likely be thrust into the starting lineup. Philadelphia may just run the ball even more than they had initially planned to, while DeSean Jackson's fantasy outlook receives a slight bump. It will be interesting to see if the Eagles take a gander at free agent receivers Brandon Lloyd and/or Laurent Robinson.
