In 16 appearances over the past two seasons, Freeman has averaged just 3.9 yards per carry with two total rushing scores, while his per-season averages between 2015 and 2017 were 4.4 yards per attempt and 9.7 rushing touchdowns per season. Though his rushing efficiency took a significant dip in 2019, Freeman's receiving output was the third greatest of his career (410 yards) and his four receiving scores established a new personal best. Under contract through 2022, Freeman remains the unquestioned No. 1 option in Atlanta's RB rotation heading into the offseason.

Freeman ran for 53 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and caught nine of 11 targets for 74 yards and a receiving touchdown during Sunday's 24-12 win against the Jaguars.

It was a heroic performance by Freeman for those who started the 27-year-old back in fantasy playoff matchups, as he got off to a blazing hot start by chalking up two TDs, three receptions and 24 scrimmage yards within the first 5:32 of regulation. Freeman has been a high-floor contributor by virtue of his pass-catching acumen, as he has multiple receptions in every single one of his appearances this season, as well as an average of 30.4 receiving yards per contest. A Week 17 matchup against the Buccaneers is less than favorable for Freeman's outlook, however, as Tampa Bay stands as the No. 1 rush defense in the NFL and has allowed just one receiving TD to an opposing RB all year.

Freeman logged 39 rushing yards on 12 carries and caught two of three targets for 16 receiving yards during Sunday's 29-22 win against San Francisco.

EDGE Analysis

Fantasy GMs with vested interest in Freeman benefited from his Week 14 rushing touchdown and ability to make consistent contributions as a pass catcher, but neither category was present Week 15 against the 49ers. Freeman was held under 3.9 yards per carry for the fifth time in his past sixth appearances, while his two catches tied a season low. Though he has garnered double-digit carries in all but two appearances thus far in 2019, Freeman possesses just one rushing TD heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Jaguars' bottom-three rush defense.
