Freeman is listed as active Sunday against the 49ers, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants are facing life without Saquon Barkley due to his Week 2 ACL tear, but it's unclear exactly how the backfield will be pieced together in his absence. The team brought in Freeman to bolster the group after he put up at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage in four of his six seasons with the Falcons. That said, he's been a member of the Giants for less than a week, meaning incumbents Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman seem like better bets to see high-leverage situations. On a positive note, though, Freeman should get a chance to mix into the offense at some point Sunday.

Freeman signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Giants on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Freeman is expected to join the Giants at practice Wednesday. Schefter relayed that Freeman's agent Drew Rosenhaus said the running back was offered more money elsewhere but felt his best opportunity was with the Giants. Although this could start off as a committee between Freeman, Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman, Rosenhaus' comments signal that Freeman's role should be locked in starting Week 3 versus the 49ers. With the Falcons in 2019, Freeman registered 1,066 total yards and six touchdowns over 14 games.

The Giants are expected to sign Freeman, pending COVID-19 testing, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Freeman waited patiently for a deal this offseason and visited with multiple teams, and following news that Saquon Barkley tore his ACL, the Giants turned out to be the best fit. It remains to be seen whether Freeman will be the clear No. 1 running back right away or if the Giants run a committee backfield with Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman, but Freeman should eventually be the starter nonetheless. Over 14 games with the Falcons last year, the 28-year-old Freeman posted 1,066 total yards and six touchdowns. The deal with the Giants will become official once he passes the COVID-19 protocols.

Freeman is slated to visit the Giants on Tuesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
In advance of the meeting, Freeman went through COVID testing Monday and will have a point of contact test Tuesday before he'll work out for the team. If he indeed inks a deal with the Giants, it'll be interesting to see if he's an immediate replacement for Saquon Barkley (torn ACL), or instead will split reps with incumbent running backs Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman. In any case, Freeman has the strongest resume of the three and the best case for early down reps in the long run.

Freeman will visit the Giants this week, potentially signing as a replacement for Saquon Barkley (knee), Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barkley is believed to have suffered an ACL tear, leaving the Giants with only Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman in the backfield. Freeman could have a role as soon as Week 3 if he signs with the team, though he might need to be eased into action. He previously was expected to visit with the division-rival Eagles this week.

Freeman is expected to visit the Eagles next week, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
A variety of free-agent running backs were linked to the Eagles during the offseason. One of them was Freeman. Due to an early season hamstring injury to starting RB Miles Sanders, it appears the team is looking into contingencies in the event another issue impacts the backfield. Freeman has a track record as a do-it-all back, reaching 1,000 yards from scrimmage in four of the previous five seasons. As such, he could be an intriguing add with the hope that a decent role is imminent.

Freeman said Tuesday that he prefers to wait at least one week before signing with a team, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Freeman told Anderson that he's currently choosing between four teams, with the veteran indicating that he still wants to evaluate his options before identifying the organization that's most willing to give him the opportunity to compete for reps within his position group. The 28-year-old has been on the open market since March after the Falcons released him following a 2019 campaign in which he compiled 1,066 total yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in 14 games.

Freeman, who visited the Jaguars this weekend, was not signed by the team, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's possible that he could end up coming to terms with Jacksonville at a later date, but unless that happens, Freeman will continue to be one of the first names mentioned any time an NFL team's backfield needs an obvious boost. With that in mind, a full slate of games after an unusual offseason with no preseason contests seems like a context that could produce more Week 1 injuries and aches and pains than we'd normally see.

Freeman is slated to visit the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Leonard Fournette no longer on the team and Ryquell Armstead currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list, this could be a good fit for Freeman, who's been waiting for the right time to sign a deal for 2020. The Jaguars' available backfield options at the moment are Chris Thompson, Devine Ozigbo and James Robinson.

Freeman's new agent Drew Rosenhaus said Tuesday that he aims to have the running back signed to a new team before training camp, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Freeman terminated his relationship with a previous agent earlier this month, but he's now joined forces with a well-known representative around the league in the form of Rosenhaus. "We want to work out a deal in the immediate future, and we are open to any team," Rosenhaus said. "He's healthy. He's in shape, and I'm on a mission to have him give a team a lift in late July." The 28-year-old hasn't put together a full 16-game campaign since 2016, and last year he dropped below the four yards per carry mark (3.6) for the first time in his career. Back in May, Freeman reportedly turned down a contract with Seattle similar to the one-year, $4 million deal the team gave Carlos Hyde.
