Smith (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith was waived with an injury designation last week and after going unclaimed, was placed on the Jets injured reserve list. It marks Smith's second ACL tear in three seasons, putting his NFL career into serious question.

Smith was waived with an injury designation by the Jets on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith underwent surgery on a torn ACL in April and was ruled out for all of the 2017 season. It's possible that the team moves him to injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Smith has been ruled out for the season after undergoing surgery on a torn ACL suffered earlier this month, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith missed most of last season because of a serious knee injury, and he was only able to appear in nine games during his rookie year because of a rib issue. His absence is certainly a blow to a Jets receiving corps that lost Brandon Marshall in the offseason, though they drafted two wideouts in this year's draft to start filling the void.

Head coach Todd Bowles expects Smith to be in the mix for playing time at wide receiver, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
EDGE Analysis
A 2015 second-round selection, Smith only has 10 catches in 14 games through two injury-plagued professional seasons. Despite the slow start to his career, he should have the chance to earn a key role on offense during training camp, as the Jets already traded Brandon Marshall and could eventually part ways with Eric Decker. Other candidates for key roles out wide include Quinton Patton, Robby Anderson, Jalin Marshall (suspension) and Charone Peake. The Jets hope Smith can at least emerge as a big-play threat, even if he doesn't earn an every-down role. He produced 30 touchdowns and 20.7 yards per reception on 121 catches during his college career at Ohio State.

Smith is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers, according to Eric Allen of the team's official website.
EDGE Analysis
Smith did not see the field for last Monday's game against the Colts despite not being on the injury report, but he is apparently ready to make his season debut after recovering from a torn ACL suffered last December. His return is certainly a boost to the Jets' receiving corps, though any kind of breakout performance is unlikely.

Smith (illness) was removed from the Jets' injury report Saturday and is set to play Monday night against the Colts, ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith -- who hasn't played this season since coming off the PUP list in early November -- was out sick Friday, but returned to practice in full form Saturday. As such, he's ready to see his first game action of the 2016 season Monday night against the Colts.

Smith missed Friday's practice due to illness, NJ.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It isn't clear what sort of illness Smith is dealing with, but he isn't expected to miss Monday night's matchup with the Colts. His participation in the Jets' final practice of the week Saturday will hopefully clarify his Week 13 game status.

Smith (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Smith was activated from the PUP list earlier in the week, but isn't quite ready to return to game action. He'll have a chance to make his 2016 debut in Week 12 against the Patriots.

Smith (knee) has been activated from the Jets' PUP list.
EDGE Analysis
Smith, who was a second-round choice in the 2015 NFL draft, sustained a torn ACL this past December, so he'll need to re-prove his health in order to make a run at a key role in the Jets' offense. In time, Smith could provide the Jets with the downfield threat they envisioned him to be when the team selected him last April, but a wait-and-see approach is in order with the second-year wideout from a fantasy perspective.

Smith (knee) will remain on the PUP list heading into Week 7, the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has yet to play this year, as he continues rehabbing from an ACL tear he suffered last season. However, he saw his individual workload increase on Wednesday. Head coach Todd Bowles is optimistic the 24-year-old can return to practice next week.
