Funchess caught three passes (on four targets) for 56 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess broke free deep and hauled in a 38-yard touchdown toward the end of the second quarter, which marked the Panthers' longest offensive gain Sunday. The play also gave Funchess three touchdowns on the campaign, leaving only tight end Greg Olsen with more receiving scores among Carolina's pass-catchers. That being said, Funchess has only topped 40 receiving yards twice this term, and has not caught more than three passes in a game yet, so his underwhelming fantasy stock remains rooted in the occasional end zone trip.

Funchess caught one pass (on five targets) for 28 yards in Sunday's win over the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess' lone catch served as the Panthers' longest passing play of the day, but still left him with just one game this season with more than two receptions.

Funchess caught three passes (on four targets) for 38 yards in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess trailed only veteran Ted Ginn with three grabs Sunday, which actually marked his best single-game output of this season. While his 38 yards were his second-best mark of the campaign, that fact illustrates just how underwhelming Funchess has been thus far.

Funchess is back on the practice field after missing Monday's session due to personal reasons, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given his quick return, it appears the personal matter has been attended to, and Funchess is in no real danger of missing Sunday's home matchup against the Cardinals.

Funchess missed Monday's practice for personal reasons, ESPN's David Newton reports.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess' situation is not related to an injury, which should be a relief following Carolina's bye week. It's unclear if Funchess will need more time beyond Monday's absence to attend to his personal matter, so his practice attendance should be worth a glance in the coming days.

Funchess caught two passes (on six targets) for 28 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess got free for a 17-yard touchdown toward the end of the first half Sunday, giving him his second score of this season. While Funchess has shown decent ability to find the end zone over his first season-and-a-half, his mere seven catches on 20 targets for 112 yards this term makes it difficult to rely on him, especially considering he's only topped the 20-yard mark in two games this season.

Funchess (foot) is active for Monday's contest against the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess erased any doubt about his Week 5 availability with full practices Friday and Saturday. That aside, he's been a bit part in the offense this season, receiving the sixth-most targets on the Panthers with 13 in four games. Although he's gobbled up large chunks on his five catches, including a 48-yarder last weekend against the Falcons, he'll be working with backup QB Derek Anderson due to Cam Newton's (concussion) absence.

Funchess (foot) was a full participant at Friday's practice, Bryan Strickland of the Panthers' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Funchess and Ted Ginn (foot) both limited Thursday but full participants Friday, it appears the Panthers will have all their wide receivers healthy for Monday's game against Tampa Bay. The question is whether Cam Newton (concussion) will be available.

Funchess (foot) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess was forced to leave last week's game against Atlanta due to his foot injury but his limited participation in practice is an encouraging sign for his Week 5 status. His participation for the rest of the week will give a better indication of whether or not he'll play in Monday's game against Tampa Bay.

Funchess left Sunday's contest in Atlanta due to a toe injury and won't return, Max Henson of the Panthers's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corralling two of three targets before his departure, Funchess compiled 56 yards, which doubles his output from the first three games of the season. The severity of the injury will ultimately determine his practice participation this week.
