Funchess caught two of six targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 17-3 win over the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess was limited by a hamstring injury early in the practice week, but that didn't prevent him from suiting up. Nonetheless, Funchess' output Sunday marked his worst of this season. In the wake of a down week, Funchess will aim to get as healthy as possible ahead of Sunday's game versus the Falcons.

Funchess (hamstring) was a full practice participant Thursday, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following up Wednesday's limited session with no limitations Thursday, Funchess has proved himself ready for a Week 8 divisional matchup with the Buccaneers. On the campaign, Tampa Bay's defense has been torched by wideouts to the tune of 9.1 YPT and seven touchdowns through six games.

Funchess (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess missed time during Week 6 preparation with a knee injury, but a hamstring concern is ailing him at the moment. On a positive note, he's actually practicing this time around, so he seems to be in a good spot heading into Sunday's contest at Tampa Bay. Outside of reaching the end zone three times between Weeks 4 and 5, Funchess hasn't surpassed four receptions or 68 yards in any of the Panthers' other five games, hurting his viability.

Funchess caught four of eight targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess ranked second on the Panthers in all major receiving categories, but his mild overall output evidences how much Carolina's offense struggled. Although Funchess has seen at least eight targets in every game since Week 2, he's gone for under 45 his past two outings. Fortunately for him, next Sunday brings a matchup with a Buccaneers defense that's been poor against the pass thus far.

Funchess caught three of nine targets for 36 yards in Thursday night's 28-23 loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Funchess caught a team-long pass of 20 yards during the fourth quarter, but failed to make much of an impact with his other eight looks. Along with his two-game touchdown streak, Funchess' four-game steak of having at least 50 yards was also snapped. On the bright side, Funchess has now seen at least eight targets in Carolina's past four games, providing reassurance ahead of a potential bounce back performance in Week 7 versus the Bears.

Funchess (knee) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's contest against the Eagles, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
After back-to-back absences to begin Week 6 prep, Funchess returned to full capacity at Wednesday's practice, erasing any doubt about his his ability to play Thursday. On the season, he's taken full advantage of his red-zone reps, especially in recent weeks, with three touchdowns among his 14 receptions the last two games. He'll look to keep up the pace this week against the Eagles 29th-ranked pass defense.

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said that he expects Funchess (knee) to play Thursday against the Eagles, Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Panthers have held Funchess out of their first two practices of the week while he's managed a knee injury, which he may have picked up in Sunday's win over the Lions. Based on Rivera's comments, it sounds like the Panthers may have just kept Funchess out for precautionary purposes due to the short week, so the expectation remains that he'll serve in his usual starting role in Week 6. After seeing only two targets in Week 1, Funchess has enjoyed a much more stable role in the team's passing attack in the last four games. In those contests, Funchess has seen between six and 10 targets, accumulating 22 receptions for 249 yards and three touchdowns over that span.

Funchess (knee) wasn't present for the Panthers' practice Tuesday, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not out of the ordinary for teams to hold players out of practice during short weeks (the Panthers host the Eagles on Thursday), but the fact that Funchess wasn't even in attendance for Tuesday's session to work out on the side isn't the most encouraging sign for his status heading into Week 6. Funchess, who has reeled in seven catches in back-to-back games, apparently picked up a knee injury in Sunday's win over the Lions and yet to participate in either of the Panthers' two practices this week to date, both of which were believed to be limited in intensity. The Panthers will wait and see if Funchess is able to practice Wednesday before applying a formal designation on the wideout for Thursday's contest, but at the moment, his availability looks to be up in the air. If Funchess is ultimately held out in Week 6, depth wideouts Curtis Samuel and Russell Shepard would likely be in store for increased snaps alongside top receiver Kelvin Benjamin.

Funchess (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's injury report, Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given that the Panthers didn't actually hold a practice, Monday's report merely serves as an estimation. Funchess is one of 10 players listed as a non-participant, one day after catching seven of eight targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Lions. He did only play 62 percent of offensive snaps, marking his lowest share of the season and first time below 82 percent since Week 1. There will be real cause for concern if Funchess is a non-participant Tuesday as the Panthers prepare to face the Eagles on Thursday Night Football.

Funchess hauled in seven of eight targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
The former tight end has taken a major leap forward in the offense since Greg Olsen (foot) was sidelined, as he's now seen 27 targets over the last three weeks. Funchess also has crossed the goal line on three occasions over the last two games, as his 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame makes him a natural red-zone target. His physical prowess near the end zone came into play in Sunday's score, as Funchess lept up to snare a high heave from quarterback Cam Newton in the back of the end zone to make the contested touchdown grab. He'll look to continue his career-best production when Carolina takes on the Eagles in a Week 6 Thursday Night Football showdown.
