Lions OLB DeAndre Levy left the locker room on crutches after Saturday's season-ending loss to the Saints. Levy had a sleeve on his left leg after taking a hit from a helmet early in the game. Beat writer Dave Birkett calls it a "muscle bruise type of injury," so Levy should be fine with a full offseason to rest. A restricted free agent in 2012, Levy tallied 109 tackles in his age-24 season.

Lions OLB DeAndre Levy leads the team in tackles with 36. Despite a move from the middle to the weak side, Levy remains a tackling machine when healthy. He racked up a career-high 13 in Monday night's win over the Bears and had 10 tackles the week before that. Middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch is second on the team with 32 tackles.

The Detroit Free Press confirms that DeAndre Levy has been moved to outside linebacker. Stephen Tulloch has run as the starting middle linebacker all camp and will stay there. While Levy still has some IDP appeal on the outside, his upside is now capped. Tulloch, the league's second-leading tackler a year ago, figures to produce even more as he cleans up behind the Lions' potentially elite defensive line.

Coach Jim Schwartz said he hasn't decided if DeAndre Levy or newly acquired Stephen Tulloch will play inside linebacker. This is likely just another case of Schwartz treating his team like a covert CIA operation. We fully expect Tulloch, an inside linebacker his entire life, to man the middle while Levy kicks to the weak side. Levy was an outside linebacker at Wisconsin.

DeAndre Levy has been lining up at middle linebacker during the first two days of Lions' training camp. In other words, he's staying put. The prohibitive favorite to lead the Lions in tackles this season, Levy should be able to rack up big numbers behind Detroit's fearsome defensive live. He could be an IDP stud if he stays healthy.

The Lions expect MLB DeAndre Levy to be their leading tackler this season. As the Detroit News points out, Levy should be able to reach the 100-tackle plateau behind one of the best defensive lines in football. "We really like DeAndre," reiterated coach Jim Schwartz. "Hopefully we can get some more (players) like him." 2010 was supposed to be Levy's breakout year in IDP leagues, but injuries derailed it. He's a great post-hype sleeper.
