Swift (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Lions listed Swift with groin injury Weeks 1-8, finally removing him from the practice report after a Week 9 bye. He's now back on the list with a new injury, which shouldn't be too surprising after he took 36 touches in Sunday's 16-16 tie with the Steelers. It is possible Swift has more competition for snaps/touches this Sunday in Cleveland, with backfield mate Jamaal Williams (thigh) returning to practice Wednesday as a limited participant.

Swift recorded 33 carries for 130 yards in Sunday's 16-16 tie with Pittsburgh. He added three receptions for five yards.
EDGE Analysis
Swift benefited from the absence of Jamaal Williams (thigh), a close score and overtime to top 20 rushing attempts in a game for the first time in his career. He didn't find a tremendous amount of room to roam, as he averaged only 3.9 yards per carry despite ripping off three gains of 15 or more yards. The only other downside to his performance was his ineffectiveness as a receiver. Even so, heading into a Week 11 matchup at Cleveland, Swift has now topped 100 total yards on five occasions for the campaign.

Swift will receive most of the reps out of the Lions backfield Sunday in Pittsburgh with Jamaal Williams (groin) still sidelined, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
In the Lions' last game Week 8 against the Eagles, Swift also was Detroit's lead runner, playing 44 of 62 offensive snaps and turning 17 touches into 51 yards from scrimmage. Meanwhile, reserve running backs Jermar Jefferson and Godwin Igwebuike combined for 22 plays, 12 touches, 87 total yards and one rushing TD (Jefferson). Swift's 71 percent snap share was in line with his work from the previous four games, so he should be good for a majority of the RB reps yet again Sunday.

Swift carried 12 times for 27 yards while fumbling once and securing five of five targets for 24 yards during Sunday's 44-6 loss to Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
With Jamaal Williams (groin) sidelined, Swift commanded over 90 percent of the snaps at running back until Detroit finally gave up in the fourth quarter. Despite the massive workload, Swift was unable to overcome the general deficiencies of a Lions offense that didn't put up any points until backup running back Jermar Jefferson found the end zone in the final minutes of regulation. It didn't help that, earlier in the game, Swift lost a fumble that was ultimately returned by the Eagles for a touchdown. However, despite the disappointing performance, there's no questioning the fact that Swift and tight end T.J. Hockenson are the focal points of the offense. The running back should have a solid chance at a rebound performance against Pittsburgh in Week 10 even if Williams returns to the field by then.

Swift (groin) is listed as active Sunday against the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Swift has had limitations in practice due to a groin injury each week this season, but he's been able to suit up on game days. He could earn an even bigger workload than normal with Jamaal Williams (thigh) a surprise inactive Week 8. Through seven games, Swift has earned 17.1 touches per game, but with just Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson to contend with for snaps, Swift could be in line for a career-best touch count (he's had 21 three different times in 20 appearances).

Swift (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
It's the same deal as every previous week this season, with Swift a limited participant and listed as questionable due to a groin injury. He's handled at least 12 touches and 56 percent of snaps in each game nonetheless, including three straight weeks with at least 17 touches and 74 percent share. Swift should be fine for his usual workload Sunday afternoon against the Eagles.

Swift (groin) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Swift leads all running backs league wide with 391 receiving yards, which is well ahead of the next two in the rankings (Cordarrelle Patterson with 296, J.D. McKissic at 249). The development is the result of a Lions skill-position group bereft of talent and beset by injuries, and Swift has generated 653 yards from scrimmage and five TDs overall in seven appearances this season. He's done it all despite a groin injury that's lingered since early August, but his status still should be monitored to ensure he's out there Sunday against the Eagles.

Swift (groin) was a limited at Wednesday's walkthrough.
EDGE Analysis
Per usual, the Lions continue to manage Swift's groin injury, which he's been dealing with since early August and resulted in questionable status for each of the first seven games of the season. He has yet to miss any action, though, and even has logged at least 72 percent of the offensive snaps in four straight contests, a stretch in which he's accumulated 68 touches for 364 yards from scrimmage and three TDs. In the same time span, backup RB Jamaal Williams has a 49-197-0 stat line, respectively. Clearly, Swift is the lead back in Detroit's offense, and with a receiving corps without much firepower outside of tight end T.J. Hockenson (ankle/knee), the former is weekly lock to be in lineups.

Swift (groin) ran for 48 yards on 13 carries against the Rams on Sunday, adding eight receptions on 10 targets for 96 yards and one touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
The Lions made the game closer than expected in the 28-19 loss, largely because of Swift's excellent output as a receiver. Swift's workload as a runner might always be limited and perhaps durability isn't his strong suit, but he's shown multiple times this year that he can provide standout fantasy production even while sharing the rushing workload with fellow running back Jamaal Williams, who ran for 57 yards on 12 carries against the Rams. It would be helpful if Jared Goff could be more productive, but in the meantime Swift has shown the ability to produce even if Detroit is subjected to poor quarterback play. The formula should stay mostly the same for Detroit as they take on Philadelphia in Week 8.

Swift (groin) is active for Sunday's road game against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Per usual, Swift entered the weekend with a cloud hanging over his availability. And again, he got the all clear to play through a groin injury. Swift hasn't been incredibly efficient on the ground, averaging just 3.3 yards on his 65 carries, but he's supplemented his line with 34 catches (on 42 targets) for 295 yards and four total TDs. He'll look to keep it up against a Rams defense that has allowed 127.3 yards from scrimmage per game to running backs this season, though Jamaal Williams may continue to be an impediment to Swift reaching RB1 status.
