Swift and the Bears agreed to terms Monday on a three-year, $24 million contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's the first major deal reported during the free-agent negotiating period and can't be made official until Wednesday afternoon. Swift figures to step in as the lead back for an offense with a new coordinator (Shane Waldron) and likely a new quarterback (Caleb Williams?), though he probably won't be a workhorse given that the Bears also have Khalil Herbert and 2023 fourth-round pick Roschon Johnson under contract. Herbert, in particular, is a threat to take a good chunk of the carries, as he's averaged 4.9 yards on 364 totes through three pro seasons. Herbert hasn't done much in the passing game -- 43 catches, 4.9 YPT -- and doesn't figure to get many chances there now that Swift is on the team.

Swift (illness) had 10 carries for 34 yards and caught all four of his targets for 32 yards in Monday's 32-9 loss to Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Swift returned to action after missing the Eagles' regular-season finale with an illness. Philly's lead back didn't have his usual burst on his rushing attempts (3.4 YPC), as he might have still been feeling the effects from the illness he just overcame. Whatever the case may have been, it was a down game from nearly every offensive player not named DeVonta Smith (8-148-0 receiving line). Swift's regular season had a much brighter tone, as the former Detroit Lion unlocked his first 1,000-yard season following his trade to the Eagles this past offseason. With Philadelphia's season officially concluding with the loss to Tampa Bay, Swift will enter free agency on the heels of his best statistical season to date.

Swift (illness) practiced fully Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Swift didn't show up on the Eagles' Week 18 injury report until Friday as limited due to an illness and entered last weekend as questionable. He proceeded to be inactive this past Sunday at the Giants, allowing the trio of Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny to man the team's backfield in that contest. With three more days to recover from his ailment, Swift was able to handle every rep to begin the week and thus is in line to resume his standing as Philadelphia's lead runner in Monday's wild-card game in Tampa Bay.

Swift (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Swift was a surprise addition to the injury report Friday, when he was listed as questionable for the Week 18 contest after he was a limited participant in the Eagles' final practice of the week due to the illness. The running back had still been hopeful to play in the regular-season finale, but Swift ultimately didn't make enough progress in his recovery from the ailment to gain clearance to play. With Swift out of the mix for Sunday's game, the Eagles are likely to lean on Kenneth Gainwell as their primary running back, though reserves Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny could have roles in the offensive game plan as well.

Swift (illness) remains listed as questionable but isn't expected to play Sunday against the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
A late addition to the Week 18 injury report after he was a limited participant in practice Friday, Swift apparently wasn't able to make enough progress in his recovery from the illness over the last two days to give it a go Sunday. Swift's status will be verified when Philadelphia releases its inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to the game's 4:25 p.m. ET kikckoff. Assuming Swift ends up sitting out, the Eagles could take a three-pronged committee approach to the backfield featuring Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny.

Swift is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants with an illness.
EDGE Analysis
Despite being ill Friday, Swift took part in the Eagles' final Week 18 practice as a limited participant, so he'll most likely be ready to play come Sunday. The Eagles have already clinched a postseason spot, but because the team can win the NFC East (and secure a first-round bye in the playoffs) with a victory plus a Dallas loss to Washington, Philadelphia isn't expected to rest key players. With that in mind, Swift should be in store for his usual role Sunday as the Eagles' lead back, provided his condition doesn't take a turn for the worse leading up to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Swift rushed 13 times for 61 yards and caught his lone target for five yards in Sunday's 35-31 loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Swift paced Philadelphia's backfield with 13 carries Sunday, losing just two carries to backup Kenneth Gainwell. The former didn't pop off any highlight-reel runs in the last-minute loss, but Swift finished the game with 1,000 rushing yards in a season for the first time in his career. The Eagles' star tailback will enter the final week of the regular season with 1,263 yards from scrimmage and six combined touchdowns through 16 games.

Swift carried the ball 20 times for 92 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 33-25 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The running back posted his best rushing yards total since Week 3 while getting into the end zone for the first time since Week 11 on a five-yard plunge in the fourth quarter. Swift is closing in on his first career 1,000-yard rushing season, needing just 12 yards more, and he should reach that milestone early in a Week 17 clash with the Cardinals.

Swift rushed 18 times for 74 yards and brought in two of three targets for one yard in the Eagles' 20-17 loss to the Seahawks on Monday night.
EDGE Analysis
Swift had only five more carries than Jalen Hurts, but the running back's tally still tied for his second highest this season. His yardage haul was his third over 70 in the last five games as well, and Swift was able to get back on the stat sheet as a pass catcher, albeit modestly, after being blanked in that department against the Cowboys in Week 14. Swift next takes aim at the porous Giants run defense in a Week 16 matchup on Christmas Day, one he'll enter 104 rushing yards shy of his first 1,000-yard campaign.

Swift rushed 11 times for 39 yards in the Eagles' 33-13 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night.
EDGE Analysis
The game script began to turn away from the Eagles' ground game fairly early, as the Cowboys owned a 10-0 lead after one quarter and a 24-6 advantage by halftime. That helped lead to one of Swift's lower rush-attempt totals of the season, and despite the sizable deficit Philadelphia operated with most of the game, Swift was also shut out of the passing game altogether for the first time in his Eagles tenure, making it a disappointing all-around night. The fourth-year pro will aim to bounce back in a Week 15 road matchup against the Seahawks on Monday night, Dec. 18.
