Thompson agreed to a one-year contract with the Jaguars on Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After spending the first seven seasons of his career in the nation's capital, Thompson hit free agency this offseason and has found a new home close to his hometown and near his college locale of Florida State. Top running back Leonard Fournette increased his involvement in the passing game last season by posting a career-high 76 grabs, but that number should shrink with Thompson, a pass-catching specialist, in the fold.

Thompson is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason, Ryan Homler of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson still offers appeal as a passing-down specialist, with potential to establish a degree of fantasy value if he lands on a team that's committed to feeding him snaps and targets. However, he's 29 years old and hasn't played more than 11 games in a season since 2016, so he may need to settle for a short-term contract without much guaranteed money. Thompson finished the 2019 campaign with 37 carries for 138 yards and 42 receptions for 378 yards on 58 targets, failing to score a touchdown in 11 games. His chances to return to Washington partially depend on whether the team's new general manager and head coach -- whoever they might be -- believe Derrius Guice can stay healthy and handle passing downs.

Thompson carried eight times for 34 yards and caught all four of his targets for 18 yards during Sunday's 41-35 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson averaged a respectable 4.3 yards per carry on a season-high eight totes, but he was uncharacteristically quiet as a receiver despite the high-scoring nature of the game. Still, his 12 touches were also his high-water mark of the season, and he should remain involved next Sunday in the season finale against the Cowboys.

Thompson recorded two receptions for 26 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson was only targeted three times during the contest and did not record a single rush. It's the second straight week the veteran back has only been targeted as a wideout -- a trend which may continue as the season winds down.

Thompson did not log any carries but brought in seven of eight targets for 43 yards in the Redskins' 20-15 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran pass-catching specialist was in his domain Sunday, pacing the Redskins in receptions while serving as a frequent safety valve for rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Thompson benefited from Derrius Guice's early exit from the game with a knee injury, and he'd presumably be in line for more snaps if Guice is forced to miss any time. Thompson's next chance to make an impact will come in a Week 15 battle against the Eagles.

Thompson (toe) carried three times for 14 yards and caught one of two targets for an additional 15 yards during Sunday's 29-21 win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson, who returned from a long injury absence, was seemingly eased back into action. Meanwhile, Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice combined for 25 touches and three touchdowns while carrying the team to an improbable road victory. Thompson could become a bigger factor in the passing game next Sunday against the Packers, but the presence of his two aforementioned teammates could limit his upside.

Thompson (toe) is active for Sunday's game at Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
In his first game action since Week 6, Thompson is expected to take on his usual pass-catching role out of the Redskins' backfield, causing the Redskins to make Wendell Smallwood a healthy scratch. As he joins fellow backs Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice, it remains to be seen if Thompson will approach the 10.2 touches per game that he saw through the first six contests of the campaign.

Thompson (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Carolina, but coach Bill Callahan expects the running back to be active, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson is on track for his first appearance since Week 6, presumably taking over for Wendell Smallwood on passing downs. The 29-year-old likely will form a three-headed backfield along with Derrius Guice and Adrian Peterson, making it difficult to count on any one player for considerable volume or fantasy production.

Thompson (toe) was listed as a limited on Thursday's practice report.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson maintained his activity level from Wednesday, but interim coach Bill Callahan told John Keim of ESPN.com that the veteran back is progressing in his recovery from a turf toe injury. Whether or not Thompson makes the requisite headway and gets clearance to play Sunday at Carolina remains to be seen. Friday's report will reveal his odds to suit up for the first time since Week 6.

Thompson (toe) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson logged a trio of limited practices last week before he ultimately sat out a fifth straight game in Sunday's win over the Lions. While it's good to see the veteran maintain the same level of participation from where he left off last week, he'll probably need to upgrade to full activity before the Redskins are confident he's ready for game action. With Derrius Guice, Adrian Peterson (toe) and Wendell Smallwood all factors in the Washington backfield, Thompson may not be asked to take back his usual high-volume pass-catching role once he gains clearance to play again.
