The Chiefs signed Sammy Watkins to replace Conley (Achilles) as the "X" receiver in their offense, Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
A 2015 third-round pick, Conley has 71 career receptions and a single touchdown, despite getting the start in 21 of his 37 games (including all five last year). He's trying to bounce back from a ruptured Achilles suffered in October, with his fit in Kansas City questionable alongside Watkins and Tyreek Hill, both of whom primarily work outside. The Chiefs previously used Hill and Conley outside, with Albert Wilson -- now a Miami Dolphin -- getting most of the slot work. The team probably prefers to have a No. 3 receiver who is more comfortable in the slot, but it isn't entirely out of the question that Conley pushes for the role if he's healthy for the start of training camp. He's unlikely to be ready for the offseason program or summer practices, giving Demarcus Robinson an early leg up in a potential position battle.

The Chiefs officially placed Conley (Achilles) on injured reserve Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Conley ruptured his Achilles in Sunday's win over the Texans. The pass-catcher had tallied 46 yards on three receptions before suffering the injury. He had not been a major part of the offense prior to going down, recording just 11 receptions for 175 yards and zero touchdowns in five games. Albert Wilson figures to see increased reps with Conley now on the IR.

Conley left Sunday's win over Houston in the fourth quarter with a ruptured Achilles, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conley had three receptions for 46 yards before departing for what will be a season-ending injury.

Conley caught just two passes on four targets for 31 yards Monday against the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
Despite playing the most snaps among receivers for most of the season, Conley has turned it into just eight catches for 129 yards through four contests. At this point, it's difficult to justify rostering the 24-year-old wideout in the vast majority of leagues.

Conley didn't catch a pass during Sunday's game against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Conley saw the field on 81 percent of offensive snaps, even more than top wideout Tyrek Hill. The second-year man out of Georgia has yet to realize his potential and may be running out of time to do so. There's nothing to suggest he will be more involved in the offense moving forward.

Conley caught all four of his targets for 55 yards during Sunday's victory over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
After snagging just 63.8 percent of his targets a season ago, Conley's upped that in the early going so far in 2017 to 75 percent through the first two contests. He continues to play the majority of snaps (87 percent Sunday) for Kansas City, but until the volume increases, he's unlikely to reliably contribute on a weekly basis.

Conley brought in two of four targets for 43 yards in Thursday's 42-27 season-opening win over the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Conley couldn't come close to matching the production of No. 1 wideout Tyreek Hill, but he did manage to log a 25-yard reception. The third-year receiver is looking to build on his 44-reception sophomore campaign, although the presence of dynamic playmakers like Kareem Hunt and Hill -- as well the trusted Travis Kelce -- could leave Conley hard up for targets on many weeks. He'll look to build on his modest Week 1 performance against the Eagles next Sunday.

Conley caught his only target of the night for nine yards during Friday's preseason game against the Seahawks.
EDGE Analysis
Conley has snagged just three passes through three preseason tilts thus far and it wouldn't be surprising if that's the end of his contributions before Week 1. The third-year wideout has gotten off to another slow start in a season where he will likely be relied upon more heavily following the release of veteran Jeremy Maclin.

Conley hauled in both of his targets for 46 yards in Friday's 27-17 preseason loss to the 49ers. He also had an 83-yard touchdown nullified by his own offensive pass interference penalty.
EDGE Analysis
The 2015 third-rounder was solid while hauling in 44 receptions for 530 yards last season, an effort that has raised expectations heading into the current campaign. Conley also figures in for a considerable boost in targets with the departure of Jeremy Maclin, and he got his quest for a breakout 2017 off to a strong start Friday. The 24-year-old bounced back from sabotaging his own scoring play by bringing in a 29-yard pass down the left side from quarterback Tyler Bray two plays later and subsequently added a 17-yard reception. Conley will look to parlay his big-play upside into even better production against the Bengals in the Chiefs' second preseason game.

Conley is expected to earn more targets in the upcoming season after the Chiefs released Jeremy Maclin on Friday, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Maclin out of the picture, Conley has been elevated to No. 2 wideout but won't be any better than third in the receiving pecking order behind tight end Travis Kelce (shoulder) and wideout Tyreek Hill in what will again be a run-heavy offense. On a positive note, Conley will likely see another healthy increase in his target count after jumping from 31 as a rookie in 2015 to 69 last year. Among his share in 2016, he gathered in 44 of those passes for 530 yards and no touchdowns.
