Cushing (back) is questionable to play Sunday against Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
This is a new injury for Cushing. He was able to take part in every practice this week, though, so he should be good to go come Sunday. If he's ruled out, both Brian Peters and Max Bullough project to see additional playing time.

Cushing had four tackles and two passes defensed in Houston's 27-20 win over Tennessee in Week 4.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing had missed the last two games with a knee injury that initially had him projected to miss up to six weeks, so seeing him practice and on the field for Week 4 was unexpected. Give him a few weeks to get back up to speed and while that happens, Benardrick McKinney (nine tackles) will pick up the tackling slack at inside linebacker.

Cushing (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 4 tilt versus the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
The stalwart linebacker hasn't taken the field since suffering an MCL sprain versus the Bears in the opener, and his return Sunday means he's beat the initial six-week recovery timetable by four weeks. Cushing logged limited practices throughout the week and should be a full go against a run-heavy Titans attack that could afford him considerable tackle opportunities.

Cushing (knee) is questionable to play in the Texans' Week 4 matchup with the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing hasn't played since spraining his MCL against the Bears in the team's season opener and he was initially ruled out for six weeks. However, he practiced in a limited fashion all week and could return after just two games off. Look for Max Bullough to continue to see additional snaps if Cushing is held out again or limited in a return.

Cushing (knee) returned to practice Wednesday after suffering a sprained MCL during the Texans' regular season opener, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing's original diagnosis figured to keep him sidelined for up to six weeks, but it appears the issue has since calmed down. Barring any setbacks throughout the week in practice, Cushing could return to game action as early as Sunday against the Titans.

Cushing tore his MCL in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Bears and is expected to miss six weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing just can't seem to stay healthy, as the torn ACL is an addition to an already extensive list of injuries the eighth-year linebacker has suffered throughout his career. The good news is that the tear will not require surgery, but with no Cushing for the next six weeks, the Texans will need unproven Max Bullough, who recorded only 30 combined tackles in 2015, to assume the starting middle linebacker position.

Cushing suffered a knee injury in Week 1's matchup with the Bears and is questionable to return.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing suffered the knee injury midway through the first quarter but the specifics are still unknown. The linebacker has had a history of injuries, which could lead the Texans to sidelining Cushing the remainder of the game. In the meantime, look for Max Bullough to see extended reps.

Cushing (rest) returned to practice Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing did not play in Houston's preseason opener against San Francisco, nor did he participate in the joint practice sessions leading up to Sunday's game, but that was due to his veteran status. "Yeah, it was just a couple days just to rest," Cushing said. "I'm kind of getting up there in years and experience. Any kind of break benefits me at this point in my career." Cushing is coming off a season in which he played every game and led Houston's defense with 110 tackles.

Cushing (rest) will not play in Houston's preseason opener versus San Francisco, NFL.com's James Palmer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing is simply receiving a veteran's day off, as he isn't injured and is listed as a healthy scratch. This shouldn't affect his level of participation in practice going forward, though, but he is questionable for Houston's next preseason game versus the Saints on Saturday as the team may continue to rest their oft-injured defensive playmaker.

Cushing recorded 13 tackles (nine solo) with an interception in Saturday's playoff loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
After a couple of injury plagued seasons, Cushing has played 30 games the last two seasons, including all 16 in 2015. Cushing proved he's not done as an elite inside linebacker.
