Cushing (concussion) has been suspended 10 games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Already set to miss Week 2 with a concussion, Cushing will now have to wait until Week 13 to play again. The Texans will look to rookies Zach Cunningham and Dylan Cole alongside Bernardrick McKinney, who last season supplanted Cushing as the IDP of choice from Houston's linebacking corps. Cushing was suspended four games for a PED violation in 2010.

Cushing (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game in Cincinnati, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing never had much of a chance to play with the Texans on a short week. His absence should ensure Benardrick McKinney (knee) has an every-down role, assuming he's able to play.

Cushing (shoulder) started in Wednesday's preseason opener against the Texans, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cushing underwent offseason shoulder surgery and was limited in practice throughout the month of June. Since the Texans likely wouldn't have allowed him to play in the preseason unless he was fully recovered, he appears to be healthy at present time.

Cushing did not participate in practice Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's a fair level of obscurity regarding Cushing's injury, but without any further word we're left assuming he'll be back relatively soon. Cushing has played through plenty of injuries before, so his absence is likely the result of a precautionary measure more than anything else at the moment.
