Cunningham, who had been a restricted free agent, has re-signed with the Rams, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Cunningham -- who rushed for 140 yards on 37 carries and caught 26 passes for 250 yards in 2015 -- had visited with the Patriots in free agency, but he has elected to re-up with Los Angeles where he continue to provide the Rams' backfield with a change-of-pace element behind Todd Gurley, as well as contribute on special teams.

Cunningham, a restricted free agent, is visiting with the Patriots on Thursday, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

With Dion Lewis (knee) recovering from a mid-season ACL tear, the Patriots are interested in adding a cheap passing-down back to provide insurance. Cunningham has never displayed much running ability, but he did a solid job in his third-down role with the Rams the past two seasons.

Cunningham ran the ball four times for 38 yards and caught all three of his targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss at San Francisco.

EDGE Analysis

With rookie sensation Todd Gurley (foot) inactive Sunday, Cunningham posted his most productive game since Week 1. Meanwhile, second-year RB Tre Mason saw most of the work in Gurley's absence, carrying the ball 18 times for 44 yards and a touchdown. Cunningham is a valuable member of St. Louis's offense, but not for fantasy purposes, especially with the emergence of Gurley.

Cunningham totaled eight yards on two rushes in a 31-23 win against the Buccaneers on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Despite the Rams passing the ball more in Thursday's contest, Cunningham was held without a target. Case Keenum didn't target his running backs once on Thursday, which doesn't bode well for the pass-catching back the rest of the way.

Cunningham toted the ball three times for 14 yards and caught an eight-yard pass in a 21-14 victory against Detroit on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Cunningham looked a bit more effective Sunday than Tre Mason, who had stolen some of Cunningham's targets the past few weeks. That being said, Sunday's game isn't much lower than Cunningham's ceiling, and his fantasy worth is close to zero.

Cunningham rushed twice for 12 yards and caught a pass for five yards in Sunday's 31-7 loss to Cincinnati.

EDGE Analysis

Cunningham saw a lot of his touches taken away by Tre Mason, surprisingly enough, as Mason had seven catches in the game. Cunningham has virtually no value unless Todd Gurley gets hurt.

Cunningham rushed for no yards on one carry and caught one pass for 20 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Ravens.

EDGE Analysis

With Tre Mason inactive for the game, one would have expected Cunningham to see a few more looks. Sunday's game, however, appears to be around Cunningham's ceiling, getting a touch or two a game.

Cunningham was held without a target in a 27-6 victory against San Francisco on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Cunningham also didn't register a carry, with Tre Mason taking the lion's share of the garbage time. Cunningham wasn't getting many looks before Sunday, but he usually gets either a carry or two or a few targets. The St. Louis offense outside of Todd Gurley is extremely hard to figure out, so it's best to avoid using Cunningham.

Cunningham rushed four times for 11 yards and caught two balls for 13 yards in a 24-6 win against Cleveland on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Cunningham benefited from Tre Mason's absence and contributed his usual few catches out of the backfield. With Todd Gurley's emergence, Cunningham will only see meaningful time on third down.

Cunningham caught both targets on Sunday for 28 yards but did not get a rushing attempt in a 24-10 loss to Green Bay.

EDGE Analysis

With Todd Gurley becoming the workhorse back, Cunningham is going to be relegated strictly to third-down pass catcher out of the backfield. Sunday's output should be about typical from now on, and the ceiling on Cunningham is quite low.
