Cunningham (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Nearly halfway through the regular season, the Rams are still trying to find the right formula at running back, but Cunningham appears to currently be sitting second on the depth chart, ahead of Zac Stacy but behind Tre Mason. Cunningham is the most accomplished pass-catcher of the group, however, and he could have value as a low-end flex play in PPR formats.

Cunningham (knee) is probable for Sunday's game against Kansas City, St. Louis Post-Dispatch writer Jim Thomas reports. Cunningham's availability isn't in question this week, though his role is unclear these days. He played 35 percent (17 snaps) of St. Louis' offensive snaps a week ago which, while much greater than the one snap played by Zac Stacy, still trailed Tre Mason's total of 26 snaps.

Cunningham (knee) was limited at practice Thursday, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Given that he was added to the Rams' injury report Thursday, Cunningham's status is now worth monitoring in advance of Sunday's game against the Chiefs. At this stage, Tre Mason is the upside play in the Rams' Week 8 backfield, though if Cunningham is limited at all this weekend, Zac Stacy's prospects of seeing looks in the team's offense Sunday could see a boost.

Cunningham has two carries for three rushing yards and caught all five of his targets for 46 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 28-26 win over the Seahawks. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said earlier in the week that he wanted to split the carries between Cunningham, Tre Mason and Zac Stacy, but it was Mason who dominated the touches out of the backfield Sunday, rushing 18 times for 85 yards and a touchdown, while Stacy didn't record a single touch all game. Cunningham has now scored in three consecutive games, but his opportunities will be limited in the future if Mason continues to get such a large share of the workload.

Cunningham carried seven times for 21 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 31-17 loss to the 49ers, adding two receptions for 12 yards. Cunningham split the work with starter Zac Stacy and rookie Tre Mason, the latter of whom gained 40 yards on five carries in his NFL debut. Sitting at 1-4 heading into a matchup with Seattle, the Rams will likely stick with a three-headed backfield to see what Mason has to offer. It will be hard to count on much of anything from any of the three running backs in such a difficult matchup.

Cunningham had seven carries for 47 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as three catches on four targets for 24 receiving yards Sunday against the Eagles. Cunningham scored on a 14-yard run late in the third quarter after taking over for Zac Stacy, who was forced from the game with a calf injury. The severity of Stacy's injured has not been determined yet, but if he is forced to miss any time, Cunningham would take over the backfield.

Cunningham had nine carries for 29 yards and one catch on two targets for five receiving yards Sunday against the Cowboys. Cunningham has seen to carries increase from five to six to nine, although he has yet to average more than 4.2 yards per carry in a game this season. Zac Stacy continues to be the lead back in St. Louis, especially after recording 121 total yards against the Cowboys, but Cunningham continues to carve out a role and will be the starter should anything happen to Stacy.

Cunningham had six carries for 15 yards in Sunday's win at Tampa Bay. He also caught one pass on two targets for four yards. Meanwhile, starter Zac Stacy ran for 71 yards on 19 carries with a touchdown. Stacy also lost a fumble, and was not targeted a single time in the passing game. For now, it looks like Cunningham will just be a change-of-pace back, although both players are similar in size. At the very least, St. Louis seems to favor Cunningham in the passing game.

Cunningham had five carries for 21 rushing yards and four catches on four targets for 30 receiving yards Sunday against the Vikings. While Cunningham finished with fewer than half the carries as starter Zac Stacy (11 for 43 yards), he was able to make up for it in the passing game, something that Stacy doesn't participate much in. The Rams were dominated throughout the game and had to abandon the run, which worked more in Cunningham's favor than Stacy's. If the Rams continue to struggle this season, they could be throwing the ball quite a bit, giving Cunningham a small leg up on Stacy in terms of overall touches, which makes him more valuable in in many PPR leagues.

Cunningham is pushing Zac Stacy for playing time, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. According to the Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas, "If Benny Cunningham isn't challenging Zac Stacy for the starting job, he's certainly pushing him for playing time." While Stacy still figures to get the starting nod in Week 1, Cunningham may be more than just a handcuff. Both he and Stacy were held out of Thursday's exhibition finale, and Cunningham had the better preseason of the two.
