Watson was left wide open across the middle on the second snap of the third quarter. He otherwise was all but invisible, though fellow tight ends Nick Boyle and Maxx Williams -- three combined catches for eight yards -- didn't fare much better. The long gain and the lack of volume both seem like aberrations, as Watson drew at least four targets in each of the previous six games, most recently catching seven of 10 targets for 41 yards in a loss to Tennessee right before Baltimore's bye in Week 10. He'll take aim at the Texans on Monday Night Football in Week 12.

The 10 targets were a season-high, but Watson still had a low yardage output. According to airyards.com, Watson's average depth of target is just 6.90 yards downfield, which is a low mark that confirms that he is rarely running the type of routes that lead to big plays. Watson remains a staple of the offense, but Baltimore's hesitance to use the veteran beyond check down-type routes puts a cap on his yardage output.

The veteran got open on a play-action pass for an easy touchdown in the first half Thursday, marking his first score since Week 3 against Jacksonville. Watson saw just four targets, which is tied for his lowest total since that Jaguars game, but part of that can be chalked up to Baltimore changing its gameplan following Joe Flacco's concussion. Watson is still one of the most heavily targeted options in the Ravens' passing game; however, it'll be interesting to monitor his usage if Flacco is ultimately unable to go in Week 9 against Tennessee.

Good news for the Ravens, who are dealing with a banged up wideout corps. Assuming no limitations or setbacks Thursday, Watson will look to keep up his relevance in PPR formats. In his last two games, he has combined for 11 catches on 13 targets for 66 yards.

Per ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley, Watson appears to be in legitimate danger of missing Thursday's game. He's been listed on most of the injury reports this season and has yet to miss a contest, but the presence of a new injury -- in addition to the Ravens' signing of Gavin Escobar -- creates serious concern regarding the 36-year-old's Week 8 availability. Also dealing with a slew of injuries at wide receiver, the Ravens don't figure to have much success throwing the ball against Miami.

The expectation remains that he'll be able to play through any lingering knee pain come Thursday, as has been the case throughout the season.

Although Watson should start and is likely to see a full snap count, he won't warrant much fantasy consideration outside of leagues that start two tight ends. Like most of the Ravens' other receiving options, he's been unable to bring consistent utility in a porous passing attack, hauling in 24 receptions for 176 yards and a score in six games.
