Watson appeared to suffer an injury during Monday's practice, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson was removed from Monday's practice with a member of the training staff at his side, and while the Saints have yet to comment on the injury, the 37-year-old tight end was held out again Wednesday. Josh Hill and Michael Hoomanawanui (undisclosed) worked with the first-team offense in Watson's absence.

Watson has signed a one-year deal with the Saints, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
After failing to lure back fellow former New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham in free agency, the Saints turn to another veteran option with experience working with QB Drew Brees. While Watson doesn't bring as much obvious upside to the table as Graham, the 37-year-old still managed to log 61 catches for 522 yards and four TDs for the Ravens in 2017. His presence bolsters a tight end group that was previously headed by Coby Fleener and Josh Hill. With Watson now in the fold, it's possible that the Saints could move on from Fleener and in such a scenario, Watson would be in a decent position to see an uptick in production in 2018. In his final season with the Saints in 2015, Watson displayed strong chemistry with Brees, hauling in 74 passes for 825 yards and six TDs.

Watson visited with the Saints on Tuesday, Herbie Teope of The Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
On the heels of his 14th NFL season, Watson seems intent on continuing his playing career, meeting with the Chiefs and now the Saints during the current free-agent period. During his stay with the latter organization from 2013-15, he capped it off with his most productive year, gathering in 74 of 110 passes for 825 yards and six touchdowns. The 37-year-old tight end is well within the twilight of his career, but he clearly is still capable of fruitful performances after posting a 61-522-4 line with the Ravens in the most-recent campaign.

Watson visited with the Chiefs this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson didn't seem to draw much interest in the early days of free agency -- not exactly surprising for a 38-year-old tight end coming off a season in which he had 8.6 yards per reception. He actually led the Ravens in catches (61) and receiving touchdowns (four) last year, but that largely was a function of the team's lack of alternative options in the passing game. Watson now figures to settle for backup work, assuming he ends up playing another season. His 74-825-6 receiving line while playing with Drew Brees in 2015 was one of the more memorable late-career breakouts seasons in recent league history.

Watson caught seven of 10 targets for 61 yards in Sunday's season-ending loss to the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
Watson was once again the safety blanket for quarterback Joe Flacco, and had 16 receptions for 175 yards and a touchdown over the final three games of the season, ending the season as the Ravens' second-leading receiver (61 catches for 522 yards). The 37-year-old will enter free agency in 2018 after missing the entirety of 2016 with a torn Achilles, and retirement seems like a definite consideration, although no announcement has been made one way or the other.

Watson caught five of six targets for 40 yards in Saturday's win over the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tight end turned in another solid performance in Week 16 and has now recorded multiple receptions in four of his last five games. Watson's 54 receptions on the year tie him with Seattle's Jimmy Graham for ninth in the league among tight ends. Obviously, Watson's touchdown production hasn't been in the same stratosphere as Graham's, but Watson does have some sneaky utility in PPR leagues that play into Week 17.

Watson caught all four of his targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Watson came into the game with a meager average of 7.7 yards per reception, and he failed to catch a pass the previous week in a 39-38 loss to the Steelers. His unexpected outburst primarily was fueled by a 33-yard touchdown, but he also had gains of 18 and 14 yards, accounting for three of his 10 longest receptions this season. Watson gets another favorable matchup Week 16 against the Colts, though his track record this season remains far from encouraging.

Watson was not targeted during Sunday's 39-38 loss to Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Watson was on the field for 33 of Baltimore's 64 offensive snaps, but that was only good enough to tie for second among the team's tight ends with Maxx Williams and was eight behind Nick Boyle. Watson is the best receiving tight end on a team that goes heavy in its formations. Still, the veteran has seemed lost in the shuffle at times, failing to top 45 yards receiving in any game since Week 2. The trend is moving downward, but the good news is that Watson takes on Week 2's opponent, the Cleveland Browns, this Sunday.

Watson caught three of five targets for 24 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday marked the first time since before the bye that Watson saw five-or-more targets from quarterback Joe Flacco. He responded with another multi-reception outing and added his third touchdown of the year. Nick Boyle's ability as a run blocker has a slight impact on Watson's snap counts and Danny Woodhead's return cuts down on Watson's targets between the 20's. Watson has a tough matchup on the docket next week against Pittsburgh's defense that is among the league's best in slowing down opposing tight ends.

Watson snagged all three of his targets for 29 yards in Monday's 23-16 win over Houston.
EDGE Analysis
It was the fourth time this season that Watson caught every pass that has come his way. The veteran tight end gets plenty of work, 41 snaps on Monday, as a backup in Baltimore's ball-control offense, but the numbers haven't been there. Watson hasn't topped 45 yards receiving since Week 2 and has scored just once since Week 3. His talents don't shine as bright in Baltimore's last-place pass offense.
