Barton (foot) has been officially ruled out for Friday's game against the Hornets, Nick Kosmider of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
There was optimism earlier in the day that Barton would be able to suit up Friday, but with the Nuggets downgrading him to doubtful after the team's morning shootaround, it was expected that his sore foot would prevent him from suiting up. Barton has seen his role downsized since Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler returned from injuries earlier this month, and the fact that he's now hurt himself may make it difficult to wring much fantasy value out of him for the rest of the regular season.

Barton (foot) has been downgraded to doubtful for Friday's game against the Hornets, Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was originally reported that Barton was going to be ready to play in Friday's contest, but it appears as though the soreness in his foot is more serious than originally expected. With the shooting guard now likely out for Friday's contest, look for Jamal Murray to take on a increased load of backcourt minutes off the bench behind both Jameer Nelson and Gary Harris.

Barton (foot) will play in Friday's game against the Hornets, Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barton's injury was originally considered to be just soreness in his foot, so his presence on the injury report was likely just precautionary from the start. Look for Barton to come off the bench with no restrictions Friday night and play his regular dosage of at least 20 minutes.

Barton is dealing with a sore foot and is questionable for Friday's game against the Hornets, Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Considering it's being listed as soreness, Barton's injury doesn't sound all too serious and he likely won't be in line for a multi-game absence. That said, he'll continue to receive treatment over the next 24 hours and we should get an updated status following the team's morning shootaround on Friday.

Barton provided 24 points (8-13 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight assists, seven rebounds, one steal and one block in 30 minutes off the bench during Monday's 125-124 loss to the Rockets.
EDGE Analysis
Barton continued to operate as a reserve although Wilson Chandler (groin) and Danilo Galinari (knee) were both sidelined, but he still wound up with a terrific all-around performance and narrowly missed helping his team pull off the away win. The dynamic swingman endured an ugly performance against this same Houston team Saturday, but factoring in this bounce-back effort he is averaging 22.8 points, 5.3 assists, four treys and 3.8 rebounds over his last four. That said, Barton has displayed an erratic track record of production when the entirety of the team's options are available.

Barton compiled 10 points (2-13 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 5-9 FT), four assists, one rebound and one block over 33 minutes in Saturday's 109-105 loss to the Rockets.
EDGE Analysis
Saturday's result exemplified the dilemma that Barton often represents for fantasy owners. When he has the hot hand, such as Thursday versus the Clippers, there's few that are better. However, when that same shot goes cold, the results can be painful. Saturday was an example of the latter, as Barton needed his nine visits to the charity stripe to reach double digits in the scoring column for the third straight game. The one sure thing with Barton is that he'll see plenty of opportunity to get back on track, as coach Mike Malone leans heavily on the five-year veteran on his second unit.

Barton tallied 35 points (12-18 FG, 7-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes in Thursday's 129-114 win over the Clippers.
EDGE Analysis
With key offensive pieces Danilo Gallinari (knee) and Wilson Chandler (groin) out, Barton stepped up his involvement considerably while seeing his largest allotment of minutes since Feb. 15. His 18 shot attempts were also his highest since a Feb. 13 contest versus the Warriors, while the 10 tries he put from long distance marked a season best. Barton fully capable of explosions of this nature on occasion, but he can also be inconsistent for stretches, such as a five-game streak of single-digit scoring efforts earlier in March. However, given his upside, he remains a viable option for overall scoring and three-pointers, as well as for decent production in rebounds and assists.

Barton finished with 22 points (7-12 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT) with six assists, two rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot in Monday's 129-101 win against the Lakers.
EDGE Analysis
Barton entered the game hitting just five of his past 21 attempts from behind the arc. This was his most productive outing since the All-Star break and a welcome sight for his increasingly nervous fantasy owners. He cited a pregame chat with coaches giving him confidence. Barton might be worth retaining in deeper fantasy leagues if he can replicate this type of production over the next couple of games.

Barton provided two points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one block across 16 minutes in a 105-92 win over the Kings on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
With the Nuggets getting healthier on the wing lately, Barton has seen his playing time tail off in four successive games, with the 16-minute workload he received Saturday representing his lowest total since Jan 5. Starting shooting guard Gary Harris, who scored 24 points Saturday, has emerged as one of the Nuggets' top offensive producers over the last month or so and doesn't seem likely to fall under 30 minutes most nights, leaving little time left over for Barton, who has failed to crack double figures in the scoring column in five straight games. Barton is a drop candidate in shallower and mid-sized leagues, but still carries enough upside to warrant ownership in deeper formats.

Barton poured in 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt) and added five assists, two rebounds and one block over 32 minutes in Thursday's 116-100 loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Barton picked up where he left off before the All-Star break, tallying his seventh straight double-digit scoring effort and shooting at least 46 percent for the third consecutive contest. With recent injuries to Danilo Gallinari (groin), Emmanuel Mudiay (back) and Wilson Chandler (illness), Barton has thrived during February, averaging 16.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists across 32.6 minutes in nine contests, with all three figures representing his best in any full month this season.
