Barton (ankle) is not listed on the team's injury report ahead of Wednesday's season-opener against the Jazz.
EDGE Analysis
Barton left Monday's practice with an ankle injury, but it seems to be causing him minimal discomfort in advance of Wednesday's game. He saw 28.4 minutes per game in a reserve role last season, posting 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. There's a strong possibility he's in line for a similar role this season, making him a viable option in many fantasy formats.

Barton exited Monday's practice with an ankle injury, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barton was unable to put much weight on his ankle as he was helped off the floor, so it's surely not an encouraging sign with the Nuggets' season opener just two days away. With that, Barton's status is certainly in doubt for Wednesday, but the team will likely provide an update on the shooting guard's status after further testing is done.

Barton collected 26 points (9-18 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block across 30 minutes in Tuesday's 96-86 preseason loss to the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
The exhibition-closing effort perfectly exemplified the upside that Barton brings on any given night when his shot gets going. The veteran closes out the preseason slate on a strong note, having also poured in 16 points on 54.5 percent shooting against the Spurs last Sunday. He posted a 62.5 percent success rate (10-for-16) from three-point range in his last three contests as well, leaving him primed for a season in which he should once again see a high-usage role off the bench behind starting two-guard Gary Harris.

Barton scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT) while adding three assists, three steals, two blocks and a rebound in 26 minutes off the bench during Sunday's preseason loss to the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
The Nuggets' top shooter off the bench appeared to be in midseason form as he lit it up from beyond the arc. Barton has posted strong numbers the last two years in his current role, but his minutes and touches could see a bump with Danilo Gallinari now a member of the Clippers.

Barton went for 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt), seven assists and three rebounds across 29 minutes in Wednesday's 122-104 preseason win over the Lakers.
EDGE Analysis
Barton drew the start in place of Gary Harris (shoulder) and in addition to his usual production from long distance, he also served as much more of a ball distributor than usual. The veteran sharpshooter is apparently banking on himself in opting to play out the final year of his three-year deal with the Nuggets after declining to extend his deal this past summer. Barton has proven capable of producing starting-quality numbers in a high-usage role off the bench over the last two seasons, a role that he's expected to serve in once again while Harris mans the starting two-guard spot.

Barton (foot) will not extend his contract with the Nuggets as he'll become an unrestricted free agent in 2018, Harrison Wind of BSNDenver.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barton originally signed a three-year contract worth $10.6 million in 2015, while he's set to play the upcoming 2017-18 season on the third and final year before testing free agency. Barton's goal is to be a starter somewhere, but the Nuggets will likely continue deploying Gary Harris (foot) as their No. 1 shooting guard.

Barton (foot) will not play in Wednesday's season finale against the Thunder, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Nuggets eliminated from the playoff race, Barton has no reason to play through discomfort, so he'll end the year having missed the team's last eight contests. Kenneth Faried (back), Danilo Gallinari (rest) and Jameer Nelson (calf) will also sit, meaning Denver will once again rely heavily on younger players like Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, Mason Plumlee, Malik Beasley and Juancho Hernangomez.

Barton (foot) has been ruled out of Tuesday's matchup with the Mavericks, Harrison Wind of BSNDenver.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barton is reportedly getting the night off to rest as he continues to nurse a foot injury which has sidelined him for the past six games. He is expected to miss Wednesday's season finale against the Thunder as well, although no decision has yet to be confirmed. As the season concludes, look for younger players like Jamal Murray and Malik Beasley to potentially see more minutes with Barton out.

Barton (foot) is doubtful for the Nuggets' final two games of the season, Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barton, who is dealing with a foot injury, will likely be sidelined for the Nuggets' final two games of the season considering that they've been eliminated from postseason contention. If he ends up absent for the remainder of the year, the 26-year-old will conclude his fifth year in the league averaging 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists across 28.4 minutes per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 37.0 percent from long range. If he doesn't suit up, expect more Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Malik Beasley at the shooting guard slot.

Barton (foot) is listed as probable for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks, T.J. McBride of BSN Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barton was cleared for a return on Sunday against the Thunder, but didn't end up seeing any minutes, effectively missing his sixth straight game. He's again expected to be active and available Tuesday, although it remains to be seen if the Nuggets will push him back into action considering they've already been eliminated from the playoffs and may want to avoid any sort of aggravation. Look for Barton's status to be updated after Tuesday's morning shootaround.
