Wesley Matthews (ankle) will play in Friday's game against the Lakers.
This is great news for the Blazers and they really need his presence for spacing on offense. Wes did say he suffered a high-ankle sprain last week, so there's a very good chance he's not close to 100 percent. His toughness has made him one of the easiest players to root for in the NBA.

Wesley Matthews (ankle) went through shootaround Friday morning but remains a game-time decision for tonight's game vs. the Lakers.
Matthews also did some light work Thursday, which was a bit of a surprise since he was expected to sit out until today. However, Blazers beat writer Joe Freeman noted that Matthews didn't appear optimistic despite refusing to rule himself out. After Friday, the Blazers don't play again until Sunday against the Celtics, so it wouldn't be a big surprise if Matthews was given two extra days to rest his ankle.

Wesley Matthews (ankle, elbow) went through some light shooting and on-court work on Thursday, but his status for Friday's game remains uncertain.
He wasn't expected to do any work until Friday's shootaround, so the fact that he was at all active is somewhat positive. If he is forced to miss Friday's road game vs. the Lakers, he could return vs. the Celtics on Sunday.

Wesley Matthews (ankle, elbow) didn't practice Wednesday and won't attempt to until Friday morning's shootaround.
Matthews didn't play Tuesday and is considered questionable for Friday's game against the Lakers. There's been limited information on Matthews' injuries, but it's clear they're significant enough if he can't even practice. Owners will want to check back Friday morning to see if Matthews will be able to gut it out and play against L.A. Victor Claver would likely get the start if Matthews can't play, but he isn't really a fantasy option at this point.

Wes Matthews' (ankle, elbow) status is "unclear" moving forward after missing Tuesday's game.
Matthews was a game-time decision and wound up not playing, but there hasn't been a ton of detail on how his elbow and ankle are really impacting him. Regardless, Matthews being out means Victor Claver got the starting nod and that will likely continue to be the case while Matthews is sidelined, but he's really not a fantasy option.

Wesley Matthews will not play on Tuesday due to his ankle injury, according to coach Terry Stotts.
Matthews is a warrior so if he's sitting out, he's really hurting. Victor Claver will start in his place, while Matthews should be considered day-to-day for now.

Wesley Matthews (ankle) did not participate in Tuesday morning's shootaround.
Matthews is officially listed as a game-time decision, but missing shootaround is usually a bad sign. If it weren't for his history of playing through various injuries, we'd suggest he's a good bet to sit. If Matthews does end up resting, Victor Claver will draw the start. We'll have official word around 9 p.m. ET.

Wesley Matthews (ankle) did not practice on Monday and is a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Suns.
Matthews said he is "optimistic" about playing as he deals with a high ankle sprain, including pain that is closer to his shin than his ankle, but that the biggest issue was a newly reported injury to his left elbow. Regardless, owners should be skeptical about anything that he says about his own status. Matthews is a true warrior and needs management to step in at times and do what is best for the player. Victor Claver is the next man up, but he has failed to impress in other stints on the court.

Wesley Matthews, who was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain on Wednesday, said that the pain is more near his shin than ankle.
Matthews had X-rays which were negative for a fracture, but owners can bet he'll undergo more testing during the All-Star break. It's the second time that Matthews has had to be helped off the court with an injury in February and the Blazers will be cautious with his return. "I went down, I felt a pop and when I didn't feel any pain right away, I thought the worst."
