Wesley Matthews said he suffered a high-ankle sprain in the first half of Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
The good news is that he didn't leave the arena on crutches and wasn't wearing a walking boot. Matthews also vowed to play in the team's first game after the All-Star break on February 19. While he is a warrior and he don't doubt that he will do everything in his power to play, it's still not a lock for him to suit up against the Suns. Luke Babbitt and Victor Claver would see more time, but there's no reason to grab them since there's a good chance Wes doesn't miss any games.

Wesley Matthews appeared to injure his left knee in an awkward fall and had to be helped to the locker room early in the first quarter of Wednesday's game.
While it was tough to tell from replays exactly how bad this injury might be, it didn't look good. We'll call him doubtful to return for now and owners just have to hope he avoided a serious injury and will be back after the All-Star break. Victor Claver replaced him in the lineup, and would likely be a beneficiary if Matthews misses time, but probably isn't a must-own player either way.

Wesley Matthews scored 21 points with one rebound, four assist, three steals and five 3-pointers in 37 minutes against the Mavericks on Wednesday.
That makes nine 3-pointers in his last two games since his return from a sprained ankle. Matthews shot just 37 percent back in December due primarily to ongoing hip issues, but he's turned it around since and is making well over two triples per game since his return. He's a warrior and should be starting in all leagues.

Wesley Matthews played 39 minutes in his return from an ankle sprain, scoring 22 points with three rebounds, five assists, one block and four 3-pointers on 7-of-11 shooting.
He looked good and showed no signs of his ankle bothering him. In fact, Wes' 39 minutes were above his season average of 35.5 per game. He and the Blazers have owned Minnesota, winning 19 of their last 21 meetings. Matthews is safe to put in all lineups and he's one of the best for steals and threes.

Wesley Matthews (right ankle) will play against the Timberwolves on Monday.
He missed Saturday's game with a sprained ankle that he suffered on Friday. Matthews battled an ankle injury in the offseason, but it was to his left one. He looks to be ready to go and is a tough player, so he should be inserted into most fantasy lineups.

Wes Matthews (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Timberwolves.
Matthews was previously optimistic that he'd be able to return on Monday, but he'll likely be reevaluated at shootaround before a final determination is made. If Matthews sits, Victor Claver would probably start again, while Luke Babbitt would also see an increased role off the bench. Neither are attractive fantasy options.

Wesley Matthews (ankle) was in uniform and was optimistic that he could play on Saturday, but he never left the Blazers' bench.
Victor Claver was uninspiring in 18 minutes in a fill-in start, while Luke Babbitt had eight points, five rebounds and one block in 24 bench minutes. Matthews is as tough as they come and his status came down to the wire tonight, so there's a good chance he'll return to action on Monday.

Updating a previous report, Wesley Matthews (ankle) will start Saturday's game.
Matthews will be in the starting five one day after leaving the arena with a walking boot and crutches, though it hardly raises any eyebrows considering his iron-man constitution.

Wesley Matthews (ankle) looked good testing his ankle before Saturday's game, but his status remains uncertain.
He's one of the toughest players in the league and we won't be surprised if he's in the starting lineup, though he may not have much spring in his step.

Wesley Matthews (ankle) left the arena in a walking boot and on crutches on Friday.
While the injury is not expected to be serious since X-rays were negative, Matthews is not expected to play Saturday. He missed the first game of his NBA career earlier this year due to a hip, so we wouldn't totally count him out to face the Jazz. The Blazers went with Luke Babbitt to fill most of the void on Friday, but he's only a desperation plug-and-play option.
