Kilpatrick has hit double figures in the scoring column in all three of the Nets' contests, averaging 15.3 points per game while shooting 51.5 percent from the field. That accuracy mark should eventually regress along with the point total, but it seems apparent that the Nets value the scoring Kilpatrick brings from the second unit. He should continue to receive the green light to fire away while receiving around 20-to-25 minutes per game off the bench.

Kilpatrick accumulated 18 points (7-11 FG, 4-4 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 25 minutes in Friday's 103-94 win over the Pacers.

Kilpatrick recovered from a 1-for-6 mark from three-point range in the opener Wednesday against the Celtics to deliver lights-out shooting Friday. He found himself on the court during crunch time, hitting back-to-back treys with less than five minutes remaining to help the Nets pull away. The Nets will lean on Kilpatrick to provide scoring with the second unit throughout the season, but beyond points and three-pointers, he has yet to show much aptitude in any other category.

Kilpatrick started at shooting guard and produced a team-high 15 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT) to go with three rebounds and one assist across 20 minutes in Monday's 120-99 preseason loss to the Celtics.

EDGE Analysis

Kilpatrick doesn't offer the Nets much beyond scoring, but it's been a standout skill for him in the preseason, as he's hit double figures in three of five games. While the Nets' starting shooting guard gig remains up for grabs, it's unclear if coach Kenny Atkinson views Kilpatrick as the top candidate for those duties, as this was his first start of the preseason. Randy Foye, Bojan Bogdanovic and perhaps even Joe Harris are also under consideration for roles with the top unit.

EDGE Analysis

Both Bojan Bogdanovic and Randy Foye rank ahead of him on the depth chart and will receive the majority of the minutes at shooting guard once the regular season is here. However, Kilpatrick will get the start during Monday's preseason outing, giving coach Kenny Atkinson a better chance to evaluate him as the preseason nears its conclusion. Look for him to potentially see extended minutes Monday, although he should return to a bench role in the near future.

Kilpatrick supplied 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT) and one rebound across 16 minutes in Saturday's 116-98 preseason loss to the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

For the first time since turning pro in 2014, Kilpatrick will have some security going into a season after inking a three-year, $2.25 million deal with the Nets in March. After getting cut by the Pelicans in training camp last season, Kilpatrick had a brief stint with the Nuggets before latching on with the Nets in February. He went on to finish the season as one of their top scorers off the bench and is expected to continue providing Brooklyn's second unit with instant offense in 2016-17.

Kilpatrick averaged 19.2 points and 4.8 rebounds across four Las Vegas Summer League contests.

EDGE Analysis

The Cincinnati product knocked down 48.1 percent of his field goals but struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just 4-of-16 attempts on the week. Kilpatrick's role for the new-look Nets is somewhat undefined heading into the season, but he figures to hold down a consistent bench role for what might be the weakest team in the league.

Kilpatrick exploded for 26 points (10-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, and two assists in 28 minutes during the Nets' 129-105 loss to the Pacers on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Kilpatrick has scored 15 points or more in every game during April, and he has hit double figures in 17 of 20 appearances since joining the Nets. He is averaging 17.8 points (45.1 FG, 34.5 3Pt, 100.0 FT), 2.4 rebounds, two threes, and 1.4 assists in 28 minutes per game through five April affairs, and with the Nets' season winding down, Kilpatrick figures to continue seeing plenty of minutes for the final two matchups.

EDGE Analysis

The 26-year-old led the team in scoring for the second consecutive game, knocking down multiple treys for the first time in nearly two weeks. Kilpatrick should see regular run off the bench for the rest of the team, and there should be plenty of shots to go around with Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young shut down for the rest of the season, but he offers little other than scoring and his fantasy value is mostly limited to deeper leagues.

Kilpatrick scored a career-high 25 points (9-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT) with a pair of rebounds a even a block during 27 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 105-100 loss to the Hornets.

EDGE Analysis

Kilpatrick has been a gem since joining the Nets in a trade with the Nuggets. He was lighting up the D-League and has been able to find some success as a Jamal Crawford-type of bench scorer. Chances are it's too late to scoop him off the waiver wire for the playoffs, but he's most likely still a bargain on most DFS sites.

Kilpatrick is currently playing on his second 10-day contract, meaning that once it expires the Nets will either have to release him or sign him for the rest of the season. It looks as though they'll go with the latter option, inking Kilpatrick to a two-year deal that's expected to be fully guaranteed for the 2016-17 season. Since signing with the Nets, the 26-year-old Kilpatrick is averaging 11.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 19.0 minutes per game (eight games).
