With Julius Randle sidelined due to an adductor injury, Gobert has been able to flick a switch, having now scored double-digits in six of the past seven games. During that time, he has averaged 13.9 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 2.1 blocks in 34.8 minutes per game.

Gobert racked up 19 points (8-9 FG, 3-3 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 40 minutes during Monday's 116-114 loss to the Kings.

The double-double was Gobert's 21st of the season while the 19 points represented his best scoring effort since he posted a season-high 21 against the Bulls on Nov. 7. Gobert's numbers are down almost across the board this season. While the 32-year-old center has scored in double digits in 11 of the last 14 games, he's still averaging just 12.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.6 blocks and 0.9 steals over that stretch while shooting 72.6 percent from the floor.

Gobert closed with 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-3 FT), 16 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals over 37 minutes during Saturday's 105-103 loss to Washington.

It was the veteran center's best performance on the glass since he pulled down 18 boards against the Clippers on Jan. 6. Minnesota's frontcourt is getting thinner, as Julius Randle is nursing a groin strain and Naz Reid exited Saturday's contest in the third quarter with a finger issue, so Gobert will be leaned on even more heavily in the short term as the team's anchor in the paint. Over his last eight games, Gobert is averaging 12.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.1 steals while shooting 65.5 percent from the floor.

Gobert finished with 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists and four steals in 30 minutes during Saturday's 133-104 victory over the Nuggets.

EDGE Analysis

Gobert delivered a strong performance, a welcome sight after an underwhelming couple of weeks. This was his first double-double in almost a week, while the four steals were just one short of the season high he set in early December. Although his impact on the offensive end continues to be sporadic, his ability to grab rebounds and defend the rim should help him maintain a relatively safe floor.
