Ray Allen (ankle) is a surprise scratch on Friday against the 76ers. Allen slipped on a wet spot on the floor six games ago against the Clippers, injuring the ankle, but has played through the injury and had not missed a game since. It seems like the injury may have worsened and with the Cs having played last night, perhaps head coach Doc Rivers wants to give him a rest. Mickael Pietrus is starting in his place and makes a decent last minute plug-and-play if you are desperate to replace Allen's 3PM potential.

Ray Allen is being targeted by several contenders, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Wojnarowski reports that while some teams are offering a young player, others are offering a first-round pick. If Boston could land both in exchange for Allen, who has an expiring contract, it's possible the Celtics could move him. Unless some team drastically overpays for Allen, it sounds like GM Danny Ainge will hang onto him through the deadline.

Ray Allen (ankle) could have re-entered Monday's 94-85 win against the Clippers. Allen said that he slipped on a wet spot on the court, but was deemed okay. He did say that he felt a "sharp pain" on the back of his foot, but once he took pressure off of it in the locker room he felt better. Consider him questionable against the Warriors on Wednesday.

Ray Allen appeared to go down with a Chauncey Billups-like non-contact injury late in Monday's game against the Clippers, but returned to the bench with a minor ankle injury and watched the final moments of the game. Allen actually slipped on a wet spot on the court, and while he said he would be "okay" he acknowledged that he would be sore on Tuesday. We're marking him questionable for Wednesday's game against the Warriors, and Mickael Pietrus (three points, 28 minutes) would be worth a look in a spot-start if Allen cannot go.

Ray Allen posted 17 points, including three 3s, to go along with four rebounds and six assists as the Celtics dropped a tough game to the Lakers. Kevin Garnett posted a double-double (14 & 11), but Paul Pierce struggled to get anything going all game, finishing with 14 points on 4-of-14 shooing, although he did dish out nine assists. The Celtics will remain in L.A., as they face the Clippers on Monday.

When Larry Bird inquired about trading for Ray Allen, the Celtics told him they wanted Tyler Hansbrough and a first-round draft pick. "If that's the value he's putting on Ray Allen, he ain't getting it," said Bird. "That tells me he's in no hurry to trade him." Boston is listening to offers but isn't actively shopping Allen, who has an expiring $10 million contract.

Ray Allen missed all five of his shots and finished with two points, four rebounds and two assists in Wednesday's ugly loss to the Sixers. Allen came in hot, scoring 21 and 12 points in each of his last two games, but the Celtics just never got it going tonight. Allen should bounce back Friday against Portland.

Ray Allen (flu) returned from a one-game absence on Sunday and scored 12 points, including two three-pointers. Coach Doc Rivers admitted that Allen wasn't quiet at 100 percent today, and it showed. He looked out of rhythm for most of the game, missing a number of wide-open shots. But like the professional he is, Allen was able to regroup and hit a couple of key shots late. It's safe to get him back into all fantasy lineups.

Ray Allen will return from his recent illness vs. the Knicks on Sunday. Mickael Pietrus will move back to a reserve role as the Celtics attempt to improve to 4-0 after the All-Star break. Allen is averaging 14.8 points and 2.3 threes per game this season.

Ray Allen (illness) sat out Saturday's practice but is listed as 'probable' for Sunday's game vs. the Knicks. Allen will see how he feels prior to the 1pm ET tipoff. We're guessing he'll be well enough to suit up, but owners with games-played limits should check for confirmation in the morning.
