Mike Conley became the Grizzlies' franchise leader in assists after handing out 11 helpers on Friday, and also added nine points on 2-of-10 shooting with two rebounds and four assists in the team's 92-82 win over the Mavs. Conley didn't hit a three and he has been somewhat quiet lately, but his overall play has been excellent as he has solidified a reputation as one of the league's better defenders at the point. Rudy Gay scored 26 points on 8-of-20 shooting with five rebounds and four steals, Zach Randolph went for 17 and 13 with a steal, and Marc Gasol went for 11 and 11 of his own with a steal and three blocks in the win.

We're fielding questions as to what's wrong with Conley this season, but he's averaging more points than last season (14 to 12.7), his assists are slightly down from 6.5 to 6.1, and he's getting just 30 seconds less per game as far as playing time goes. He's also shooting it better from both the floor and 3-point land than he did last season and his steals are up. The biggest difference is that last year's 2.0 turnovers have jumped up to 3.1 this season, but he's essentially a slightly better version of last year's Conley. And he's returning solid third-round value according to Basketballmonster.com. So the answer is, nothing is wrong with Conley.

Conley headlined a quiet fantasy game for the Grizz, as Zach Randolph put up a customary 10 points with 15 boards, Rudy Gay hit just 5-of-13 shots for 12 points and not much else, and Marc Gasol had just four points on 1-of-7 shooting to go with 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block in the win.

In fact, his scoring has become a concern as he's averaging just 11 points, six assists, 2.8 steals and 1.4 3-pointers over his last five. His season average is down to 14 points per game and his high is 21 points this season, but he'll start scoring again at some point, because he's too good not to.

Mike Conley had just 12 points, three assists and six turnovers as the Grizzlies' 13-game win streak vs. the Eastern Conference was snapped with a loss to the surging Hawks. The loss bumps Memphis 1.5 games behind the Spurs in the Southwest division, but only the Spurs and Thunder have higher win percentages than the Grizzlies (.778). Conley and his teammates will have three days off before Wednesday's road game in Phoenix.

This was Conley's worst game of the year and he was coming in smoking hot -- especially with 10 steals in his last two games. This dud will knock him outside of the top 20 for 8-cat value, but he should hang around that neighborhood all year.

Conley is a mid-first round value right now and there's no reason he can't continue his assault on fantasy leagues. Marc Gasol scored 17 points with 11 boards, three assists, and two blocks, Rudy Gay matched Gasol's 6-of-17 shooting line with 18 points and four boards of his own, and Zach Randolph missed a double-double for just the second time this year with eight points and five rebounds in the win.

Mike Conley returned to the lineup on Wednesday and had 16 points, five assists, two steals, two blocks and four 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Raptors. This is the type of line his owners were hoping for. Conley was launching threes at an alarming rate in the preseason, so the 1.5 triples per game he was sporting entering tonight's game is almost a pessimistic expectation. He is shooting exactly 50 percent from the field this year and should have a huge season.

Mike Conley (flu-like symptoms) practiced fully on Tuesday. His status for Wednesday's game isn't set in stone, but the fact that he was able to take part in a full practice is a good indication that he'll be able to play. Owners will need to check back for another update, but it looks safe to pencil him into your lineups again.
