Smart had his right thumb heavily wrapped at practiced Wednseday due to a sprain, Scott Souza of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
There hasn't been much information released on the severity of Smart's sprain, but it doesn't appear that his status is in much jeopardy for tomorrow's game against the Bucks. That being said, continue checking in on the guard's status if you plan on having him in your lineup for tomorrow.

Smart had 17 points (6-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven assists, four rebounds, and four steals in 29 minutes during the Celtics' 124-122 loss to the Timberwolves on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Over the last five games, Smart is managing 12.8 points, 3.6 assists to 1.8 turnovers, 3.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals, 1.4 triples, and 0.2 blocks in 27 minutes per contest. The pesky, defensive-minded guard is built to battle on both ends, and he is certainly one of the top hustlers in the league at any position. This was his sixth effort with four or more steals, and he is establishing himself as one of the best ballhawks in basketball.

Smart played 32 minutes off the bench in Sunday's win at Denver, posting 10 points, four steals, two assists and two rebounds.
EDGE Analysis
Smart's inspired tip drill with Evan Turner led to an easy dunk for Avery Bradley in the fourth quarter that broke the game open for Boston. Smart embodies the grit and hustle that has Boston in third place in the East. That usually doesn't translate into gaudy fantasy stats, but Boston is finding success with an even four guard rotation of Isaiah Thomas, Bradley, Smart and Turner. Expect Smart to continue to receive roughly 27 minutes per game.

Smart contributed 12 points (3-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, two assists, and two steals across 21 minutes in Tuesday's 112-111 loss to the Bucks.
EDGE Analysis
Since going off for a career-high 26 points on Jan. 31 against the Magic, Smart has surpassed double digits in the scoring column in only two of the last five games. His averages of 8.8 points, three rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.4 steals over 25.6 minutes during that span really only make him a consideration in deeper formats.

Smart scored 26 points (8-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT) to go with five rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes during the Celtics' 119-114 loss to the Magic on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart's 26 points matched a career-high, and his five triples were a season-high. This was the first time all season Smart has gone the whole game without an assist. However, he had himself a fantastic performance, competing hard and putting up stats to the final whistle. Smart has hit eight threes in the last two contests, and he has scored in double figures in four of the last five. Though Smart typically doesn't dish many assists or put up eye-popping numbers, he still contributes in every category, and his best days are undoubtedly still ahead of him.

Smart had 16 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four assists, three steals, two rebounds, and one block in 28 minutes during the Celtics' 113-94 win over the Magic on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart bounced back from an 0-for-5 performance on Wednesday against the Nuggets, scoring efficiently and contributing in every category. Smart continues to fall short of 30 minutes most nights. However, there's reason to believe he can improve on his modest averages thus far if he can manage to find some consistency.

Smart had four points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT) with three assists, three steals and two rebounds in a win against Denver on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart couldn't get a shot to fall from the field on Wednesday, but he was able to contribute in other areas. It didn't help either that Avery Bradley was on fire and chucked up 13 three-pointers. Smart will continue to be a decent contributor for Boston off of the bench in a multitude of statistical categories.

Smart provided 16 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four steals, three rebounds, two assists, and a block across 29 minutes in Sunday's 112-92 win over the 76ers.
EDGE Analysis
After combining for 14 points on 5-for-17 shooting over the past two games, Smart's shot got back on track Sunday, with his marksmanship from long range especially impressive. He's still only shooting 34.4 percent for the season and 21.5 percent from three-point range, so until he emerges as more of an offensive force, he'll be difficult to trust for consistent scoring outputs.

Smart had 20 points (8-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 39 minutes during the Celtics' 118-113 overtime loss against the Mavericks on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart is churning out 10.8 points on 40 percent shooting to go with 7.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.6 blocks across 30 minutes per appearance over the Celtics' last five games. Though the 21-year-old guard is coming off the bench, he is still earning ample playing time, and is starting to put up some impressive numbers as well. Smart has missed half of his team's games, but so long as he remains healthy going forward, he stands to have plenty of opportunities to post gaudy stat totals the rest of the year.

Tue 1/5/16 4:29 PM

Smart scored seven points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) to go with four rebounds, three assists, and one steal across 24 minutes in Monday's 103-94 win over the Celtics.
EDGE Analysis
After averaging just 12 minutes in his first two games back from a lower leg injury, Smart has seen his playing time doubled in the subsequent two contests. While he hasn't posted strong fantasy production in either of his last two contests, Smart was a bulldog defensively Monday night, which has been his calling card during his brief time in the NBA. Avery Bradley (hip) was sidelined Monday and is expected to miss at least the next two games, so Smart could be called upon for more extensive court time, though it appears coach Brad Stevens is content to roll with Evan Turner as Bradley's replacement in the starting five.
