Smart (ribs) scored 11 points (3-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) to go with five assists, three rebounds, and two blocks across 33 minutes during the Celtics' 111-103 win over the Hawks on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart suffered a bruised rib during Game 2, which may have played a part in Celtics' coach Brad Stevens' decision to bring him off the bench for Game 3. However, it's also possible Stevens was looking to inject some offensive firepower into a starting five that mustered up seven points in the first quarter of Game 2. Even if it is off the bench, Smart seems likely to continue to playing through his pain while receiving plenty of minutes.

Smart (ribs) will come off the bench for Friday's Game 3 tilt with the Hawks.
EDGE Analysis
Smart was promoted to a starting role in Game 2 after Avery Bradley was sidelined with a hamstring injury but has been replaced by Evan Turner for Game 3. The second-year guard suffered a bruised rib during the game, which may have impacted coach Brad Stevens decision to move him to the bench. Regardless, Smart will still play a role in Friday's matchup and will look to turn around his play after a lackluster performance in Game 2.

Smart (ribs) is expected to practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart suffered from bruised ribs in Tuesday's Game 2 loss to the Hawks, but after taking a rest day Wednesday, it appears the second-year guard has noticed some improvement with his condition. If Smart ends up practicing Thursday as expected, he'll likely be cleared to play in Friday's Game 3. Smart will likely be looking for some measure of redemption after he was awful in Game 2, scoring only three points in 30 minutes on 1-for-11 shooting from the floor and 1-for-6 shooting from three-point range.

Smart suffered a bruised rib in Tuesday's game against the Hawks, but he plans to be ready for Game 3 of the first round series, the Boston Herald's Mark Murphy reports.
EDGE Analysis
He had tests on the rib after Tuesday's loss and the team should know more Wednesday. That said, he seems set on playing through any pain. Owners will want to double check his status prior to Game 3 on Friday in Boston.

Smart will start in Tuesday's Game 2 matchup with the Hawks.
EDGE Analysis
Smart has been promoted to the starting rotation after Avery Bradley (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's Game 1 loss to the Hawks. Although no official timetable has been released for Bradley's injury, it is expected that he could miss the remainder of the first-round series, which leaves Smart and Evan Turner to pick up the majority of action at shooting guard.

Smart (finger) returned to practice Tuesday, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Celtics held Smart out of Sunday's practice for precautionary purposes after he was dealing with a bruised finger that he sustained in Saturday's Game 1 loss to the Hawks, but it doesn't look like he's in any danger of missing Game 2. Avery Bradley (hamstring) won't be available for Tuesday's contest, which will open the door for either Smart or Evan Turner to enter the starting lineup at shooting guard.

Smart notched 15 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 29 minutes during Saturday's Game 1 loss to the Hawks.
EDGE Analysis
Smart came up big for the Celtics in the fourth quarter, nailing a game-tying three with 7:23 remaining to cap a ferocious comeback. With Avery Bradley sidelined for the remainder of the series, the second-year guard may be called upon to produce more than his normal share offensively. Still, we'll see if he's able to deliver, as he's shot just 34.8 percent from the field the season.

Smart didn't practice on Sunday as a precaution due to a left index finger sprain, Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart's precautionary rest likely came about due to Avery Bradley (hamstring) being doubtful for the rest of the Celtics series against the Hawks. Smart is a top candidate to fill up Bradley's minutes while he recovers. His injury isn't serious, so owners have nothing to worry about as of now.

Smart suffered a sprained right index finger in the second half of Saturday's Game 1 matchup with the Hawks but has been cleared to return to the game.
EDGE Analysis
Smart will be available to return in the second-half of the game but could see his minutes restricted as a result of the injury. The Celtics will keep an eye on Smart's shooting form, as the sprain is located on his shooting hand. Evan Turner could see increased as action as a result.

Smart, who has struggled with his shot all season, is finally heating up as the Celtics fight for playoff seeding, CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely reports.
EDGE Analysis
Over the past three games, Smart is shooting 41.7 percent from three and 52.2 percent overall. His four made threes versus Atlanta Saturday hopefully will boost Smart's confidence heading into the playoffs. Smart is shooting 36.8 percent from three in April, relative to the lowly 25.5 percent he's been shooting from three all season.
