Lowry was a late addition to the injury report ahead of Friday's contest against Portland because of lingering back spasms. It's unknown at the moment when the veteran point guard started to experience the back spasms and its not clear how severe Lowry's injury is. It's still somewhat likely though that Lowry plays Friday, but if the Raptors are too concerned with his healthy and ultimately rule him out, Fred VanVleet will probably step into the starting point guard role.

Lowry mustered 23 points (9-18 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 12 assists, five rebounds and three steals across 38 minutes in the Raptors' 113-93 win over the Warriors on Wednesday.

Lowry put the team on his shoulders with Kawhi Leonard (hip) once again sidelined, turning in an excellent all-around line in one of the most difficult road environments in the NBA. Moreover, he was excellent on the defensive side of the ball, helping to limit Stephen Curry to 10 points on 3-for-12 shooting. After opening December in nightmarish fashion by going scoreless in one game and posting no more than seven points in three others, Lowry now has back-to-back 20-point-plus efforts in Leonard's absence.

Lowry finished with no points (0-5 FG, 0-5 3Pt), seven assists, five rebounds and one block across 34 minutes in Sunday's 104-99 loss to the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

Lowry averaged a double-double through the Raptors' eight October games (18.5 points and 11.1 assists), but saw his marks in those categories plummet to 13.7 and 9.9, respectively, in November. That downturn was already difficult enough for fantasy managers to stomach, but the point guard has inexplicably been even worse through his first four outings in December. Lowry has now failed to score more than seven points in any of those contests while shooting a disastrous 14.3 percent from the floor and 12 percent from three-point range. Those percentages obviously won't stick and some positive regression will surely be forthcoming, but Lowry may struggle to re-emerge as a regular high-teens scorer for the Raptors now that third-year forward Pascal Siakam and a resurgent Serge Ibaka have proven capable of shouldering more of the scoring burden alongside offseason pickup Kawhi Leonard.

EDGE Analysis

Lowry, returning from a single-game absence Monday, was less than stellar on offense. He did, however, still find ways to impact the game and provide some fantasy value. He posted double-digit assists for the fourth time in his past six games and posted a season-high three blocks.

EDGE Analysis

Lowry missed Saturday's game against the Cavs with a sore back, but his absence looks to have been mostly precautionary, and he'll be back in his usual starting role Monday night. Over his last five games, Lowry is averaging 16.4 points, 10.8 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.0 steal.

Lowry took a backseat to Kawhi Leonard in Thursday's contest, registering double-digit assists in the process. Clearly in close games, Leonard will be the one with the ball in his hand most of the time, but expect Lowry's scoring totals to pick back up moving forward.

Lowry had 15 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine assists, three rebounds, and two steals in 30 minutes during Friday's 125-107 victory over Washington.

EDGE Analysis

After Wednesday's massive triple-double, Lowry was a little more subdued Friday but still managed a solid fantasy line. Lowry has certainly slowed of late but is still having himself a stellar season. He is currently averaging a career-high 10.5 assists per game and while that will likely come down slightly, chances are hi finished the season, still at a career mark.
